Beat a new model Mustang GT
I don't race much, but about 4 days ago I was in downtown St. Louis and I saw a yellow 00-02 mustang convertible pull up to a light....i thought i was going to lose. Light turns green, I stomp on the gas (VSA off) and surprisely the stock Michelins didn't squeal much (probably lucky) and I got a lead on him. He kept up (head of his car at my passenger door) and then I pulled away until about 80 I had cut off......that's when I found out it was an automatic GT because of the dual exhausts and the way his engine roared.
After that, I saw a 92-95 fixed up 2dr civic. Since my tires were warm, I did a large peel out after a light.
Overall, I had no idea I could keep up with a GT.
Here are my mods that contributed to my victory:
02 TL-S with:
AEM cold air intake with bypass
Comptech headers
H&R sport springs
Kakimoto exhaust
Was driving alone(so was he)
Disadvantage: 12" Rockroad and amp

I had a little run with a stang on my way to work this morning. The guy was trying to keep up with me in traffic, we hit around 80MPH and shut it down. The guy was cool, we looked at eachother afterwards and nodded, good race. The funny thing was there was a Taurus trying to impress us but he was driving like an idiot. The Taurus did not use his blinkers, he was cutting people off, just an idiot.

the new one is better with more hp...but still can't go faster than the supercharged 3.8...
so the TL-S can pull them off...

POWER?!?
it isnt that strong compared to what??! Its certainly strong compared to your 3.2
So it is not strong comared to our puny 3.2, it is equal to our 3.2. The only thing that could possibly save that heavy tank-like beast is a manual transmission and that certainly will only help drivers with 1/2 a brain (as we all know mustang drivers overwhelmingly lack that). Add the extra lbs that ford tacks on to the convertable model for a lower center of gravity and... well you get the picture.
