Battery replacement suggestions
Battery is a little over 4 years old and dealer tested it and rec new one but wanted 139. plus tax and battrery only comes with 2 yr free replac. Want to get one ( I guess it's size group 24) with at least 3 year free repl. and fits under the standard cover. Any suggestions from those with "03 TLS" who may have replaced one recently? Thanks

Just get the wal-mart battery. I am pretty sure its 2 year free replacement, 3 year pro rated after that. If you really really want the 3 year free replacement then go to autozone or pepboys and you can probably get that there. The wal-mart battery is cheapest with a decent warranty and works just as good as any other battery.

How much does your aggrevation and time is worth to you???? Get a cheapo battery or get something that is proven to last like an Optima for like $130 from http://bigtimebattery.com... you do the math.....

As said, if there are no special needs, the cheapie will do the job.

My battery died yesterday Oct. 31st. I could barely get the car started and found the battery was only putting out 10.37 Volts. I stopped at Battery Pro. They deal in all types of batterys. $55.00. It's very easy to replace. Punched in my Radio Code and all is working and well. Stay away from the STEALERSHIP. $139.00=you gotta be kidding me!

No way a battery lasts 10 years with the summers we have (40-60 days of 100+F)
In the southern climates, the chemicals just burn themselves out at a faster rate (I know duh, chemistry) so there isn't as big a difference in the need for a top tier like Optima vs the cheapie. JMHO
Seems like a lot of the decision is need (big stereo) and climate (need lots of CCA) based.
Good discussion on value for car parts though.
