Exclamation Battery Cover Issues

I changed my battery last weekend, and when I was finished I noticed the battery cover didn't fit on perfectly...I guess I didn't line up the positive terminal correctly. So I sorta forced it in there, and it seemed low enough, but I'm thinkin now it isn't. I looked at my hood today and noticed on the drivers side the edge is higher then the side panels. I popped the hood and took the cover out, but now the drivers side of the hood doesn't sit flush with the rest of the car. Granted its 1-3 centimeters, but it still bothers the heck outa me, as I'm sure it would with you guys too...
Any suggestions?
Anything is appreciated...
Thanks
~Chris

What size batterry did you install
Mine is a little taller than stock and the cover had to be modified
Most fit perfect or have a removable spacer maybe on the bottem

I didn't bother putting the cover back on after I got an aftermarket one. I can live without it since the hood stays closed most of the time and the engine bay is too dirty to show it off to anyone.

Yeah battery was possibly a little taller, but I didn't think enough to make a difference. My stock one didn't have a handle and this did....but is this still enough to bend that side of the hood up? What are my options here....get a few friends to sit on that section to lower it? or something a little more complex?

I trimmed the underside of the plastic cover so that it would fit flush. If it didn't fit, I would have done without.
