AV6 Swap Issue-Not Shifting
Hello all,
Just recently did the AV6 swap on a 2002 Acura TL (nonS), with a 2007 Honda Accord V6, it was used, with 92K. I did the work myself, with the help of the guide, swapped out all parts required. After the swap, took it on a test drive, 35miles or so, pulled into to pick my wife up, as i reversed, i had a delayed shift, and a delayed shift to D5, followed no shift engagement at all. Had it towed home, didnt want to drive it further with issues.
After getting it home, it shifted fine, but then after about 5mins of running the problem of no engagement happened again.
Thus far, i have replaced all 9 of the sensors, with aftermarket new, or old TL sensor/solenoids, it got even worse, a quick R, but then followed by nothing. While doing a stall test on one of the short times i was able to get gears to engage, i threw a P0720 (flashing D5), Counter-shaft speed sensor, took the TL sensor and swapped it, cleared the code, did not return. I also replaced the Neutral Safety Switch, as i was getting stuck in N-R, this did fix that, but unrelated.
On the test drive, i had no real issues with the AV6 trans, shifted smooth, i had a few hard 4-5 shifts, but that was reported in the mega thread by others. I did notice some shuttering, but i bought a reman-TC, which i installed, After the swap, i had drove it for about 20 mins, about 4 miles total, and did a drain and refill, using DW-1, fluid was cherry red, as it looked when i replaced the all the solenoids, smells and looks perfect.
Im a bit stumped on this now, only thing left is the mainshaft sensor, TC or the used Trans, it sorta feels electrical, not mechanical, anyone have any advice on whatelse i could check?

does sound like an electrical or sensor issue, but that is too far advanced for me. have you tried taking it to a transmission shop or acquiring a professional for help? sucks to hear man sorry

I ended up getting a bad used transmission, the Internal filter was clogged, not allowing any pressure. I took it in, had it rebuilt, and havent had any issues since. Thank you for the reply. I did swap out the sensors, with aftermarket, and the old 02 TL sensors, total of 9, but that didnt work. Even swapped out speed sensors.
