Unhappy Arm rest rattles?

Guys,

Are your arm rest (the storage console in the center) rattles? If you do, have your talk to dealers?

Just fixed moonroof rattle and found out arm rest rattles as well. Should I talk to the dealer or they simply won't even try to fix it for you?!

Talk to the dealer. But first make sure it's nothing inside the armrest making the noise. If you're like me and every little rattle annoys you, I'm sure you already have. The day after I bought mine, I took if for a drive on some mountain roads and something started rattling like crazy. I was so pissed because it definitely didn't do that when I test-drove the car. After a little investigation, I discovered it was my sunglasses in the overhead storage compartment. duh.

Usually I don't mind little rattles 'cuz I know almost every cars have some rattles somewhere. But there are few major rattles really bothering me. One of them got fixed already which is the moonroof rattle. Others are somewhere from back seats and arm rest.

I found arm rest rattle by accident. Couple days ago I put my arm on the arm rest and notice that rattle disappeared. I then left up my arm and the rattle appeared again. So I tapped the arm rest lightly and found out it has "click" "click" sound. I got home and checked my mom's Camry, the arm rest closed perfectly without any rattle. That made me think it rattles.

Well... I'll remove everything from its storage when I show it to the dealer. Wish me luck!!

If I slide the arm rest forward and take my arm off, it rattles. In back position it does not. My moon roof rattles if the ceiling cover is slid back and the glass is closed. I still think that we are paying the price for a half-ass (untuned) "sporty" suspension and low profile tires.

Don't think I don't like the car, though. I'm at 20,000 and loving it more every day. I notice more attention from others now, by the way. Do you?

If your arm rest rattles, then you need to buy replace your rubber pads. They most likely fell out and are lost under your seats.

Part #66418-579-000
Cost: $3.08

You'll probably need 2 of them.

Just posted this in case any current members have an arm rest rattle =]

I just got mine from the dealership to avoid shipping charges.

However, you can get them cheapest here:
http://www.trademotion.com/partlocat...?siteid=214999
Just search for the part number

They sell them for $2.40 each with free shipping. The top shallow container uses 2 rubber pads, and the bottom big container uses 2 rubber pads. Total of 4, but most likely your top 2 are worn/missing.

Once I get rid of this rattle I just have to fix the rattle under my seat and I'll be rattle free

note: if a new squeak appears in center armrest:
ck your driver seat lumbar adjust lever
It hits conssole when in a forward- useful - position and makes noise
return to upright- retracted position and it goes away
