Anyone with Comptech Tranny cooler and still had tranny blow?

It's worth it. If you don't want to go the Comptech route, search the CL site and go the B&M route. I did and I'm very happy with the results. Benefits are improved and more consistent shifts. I've had a cooler in my '99 for around 20K miles and my fluid is still pink.
Going to add one to my 03' TL-S this week. After 15K miles, fluid has already gone brown.
No guarantees but it will definitely help the tranny's longevity. Also consider switching to Amsoil Synthetic ATF which is now listed as a valid replacement for Honda's Z-1 ATF.

Sad thing is, my dealership didn't want to hook my new transmission up to the tranny cooler. AND they forgot to leave the Comptech hoses that came with the cooler and they have to give me some hoses. Acura service has been horrible.

Funny, I asked the same question last week, not a single reply. You can find comptech cooler for 138.$ , Try Yahoo Shopping. The comptech cooler looks very small compared to ones i`ve seen in the past. It seems that size doesn`t matter? The money outlay is small compared to other mods. I guess you have nothing to lose and everything to gain. Any one remember how much the dealer charges for instalation?
Thanks Again!

the problem isnt the whole tranny overheating when it blows, its 1 bearing that has inaduquit cooling, a tranny cooler may keep the whole tranny cooler but if the bearing cant get enough fluid it doesnt matter how cool the fluid is. i cooler deffinatly is worth getting though, especially if you drive city driving or hard

The one I got was a B&M #70255. I just went to my local speed shop (Speed Freaks) and pick one up for about $4X.XX and a 12ft. section of 3/8" tranny hose for about $25. Then go to the dealer and get 1 more qt. of tranny fluid for about $4.
The length of tranny hose is a little much but I found that I could use it to cover some abbration points that the lines to and from the cooler may rest against. In my case this was a grouding strap from the fender well to the engine block and again around a metal brake line. Works fine.
Don't let people tell you that you need to take off the front bumper cover. NOT TRUE!! You just need a skinny arm to get the bottom three clips from underneath to get the grill out.
