$hit Man. I feel for you. Wish all this stuff (paint, rattles, tranny) was told to me when I asked about this car here over the is300

So far, 10K miles on mine, I'm still ok. I may need my moon roof adjusted and a door checked for air leaks, but I'm really searching for problems due to this forum, as nothing really stands out as a pain.

The point of a forum is that you look it up yourself instead of counting on others to repeat information over and over. Besides, I think there are many people on this board who have never had any or very few of the problems mentioned. "Knock on wood."

Oh sorry, I thought a forum was to talk to people, not just a searchable FAQ.

I think you miss the point. I construed it as- he is concerned by the number of defects reported on the forum, and as such, is looking at his own car much more closely.

In short, lighten up.

I'm curious about driving habits, too. I suspect that might have something to do with it.

Man, I am interested about this issue. After all, I do use VTEC around once every 2 weeks I hope I am not destroying the tranny.

Hopefully Acura is building a pattern because so far there doesn't seem to be any, except that we own the same car. I mean, it's not a mileage thing...mileage for a dead tranny has differred pretty greatly. I'm pushing 10k and thought I was out of the woods, but now this latest report w/ 13k on the clock means surpassing a set mileage w/o any tranny issues doesn't mean a darn thing!

all I know is this thing better not go out right before the warranty expires...I think then we'll be talking to Acura corprate and an atty!

Lightbulb

Drive the car hard as is reasonable for each individual to make sure that if it's gonna break it will still be within ACURA's warranty period.

Humm, let's see I only have 3.3 years left on my drivetrain warranty.
