Another rotor issue (not OEM rotors)

So after having the infamous OEM rotor issue I went to aftermarket rotors and pads. I got the crossdrilled and slotted rotors from irotors.com and a set of Hawk HPS pads. I'm not exactly sure on the milage but I think I've had them on my car for ~40,000 miles. Anyway, I've been needing new pads on the front for a couple weeks now, and noticed that I'm getting the steering wheel vibration when I'm braking going downhill. I got new pads and the brake place said my rotors aren't warped (thought they were cause of the vibration), but that they're at the minimum thickness and I should get new ones soon.

I know aftermarket pads are hard on rotors but shouldn't some aftermarket rotors at least last more than 40,000 miles? My driving routes have changed and I now do a lot of stop and go driving on a freeway with a lot of hills (the 405, around where it hits the 101), but I didn't think that would eat up the rotors too much.

Is this an acceptable time for rotors to last with aftermarket pads? Should I just switch to a different brand of rotors? I thought irotors.com just used brembo blanks anyway, if brembo rotors won't hold up I don't know what else would. I'm a somewhat aggressive driver but not retarded about it, so I don't think that should have too much to do with it.

Anyone have thoughts / suggestions / ideas? New rotors + tires + brakes every year isn't cheap...

hawks and other performance pads are hard on rotors. i had a set once (hawk) and i got aound 40k also and the rotors were shot. no rotor will hold up long with a aggressive pad.. you say the place said that the rotors wernt warped, but you have vibration??? is it the slotted rotor vibration that is extremly common until the pads get bead in that you are feeling?

They have a 405 and 101 intersection in Canada?

Anyways, joking aside, i don't do 'aftermarket performance pads' , they all stink.

I drive the 405 and 101 like you every day.. i have slotted and crossdrilled rotors with pads that Acura 101 West choose for me.. they last a LONG time.. got about 25,000 miles on em now and they're still above 70%.

I don't think they're OEM cause they had to specifically order them from Acura Corporate.. i'll check tomorrow.

They're not the 'normal' pads that go under a TL, that much i know. I am not sure if they are Acura brand or if they are a third party brand with better breaking performance.

I do know that the car breaks a HELL of a lot better since the rotors and pads were replaced with these. A lot less dust on the rims too.
