u ppl think ALTEZZA lights are going to be made for the TLs?...

cause recently one came out for the older maxima...

since its an acura, it wont be that bad...i hate TRUCKS(PICKUPS) with altezzas...ruins the import taste if put on domestic vehicles...

just an idea...it would be cool...

 

i think any cars other than the IS with Altezza lights are bad...

Even makes the IS300 look cheap. The tail lights on the IS300 is one of the reasons that I did not even consider that car when purchasing my TL-S.

IMHO, they would look aweful on the TLs.

 

No... don't even say that.... get an Accord if you want to add Altezza's, or better yet, get an IS300.....

 

It's funny, because you hear them being called "European lights", but there is no way any European maker (maybe besides VW) would even consider putting them on their car, even an entry level. BMW put them on a new 2 series at a show, and following the response, they changed them. I agree, they even look bad on the IS, except maybe the IS in silver. Altezza look terrible even on Ricers that are black, red... too much contrast. I even heard states may be making brake lights under 4" wide illegal. I sure hope so; I'm tired of all those lights. Especially the off brands that are clear, no red brake light. Then people are mad when they get pulled over....

I think I have seen pages where even the Altezza owners in Japan are annoyed at how every import car now has their style of lights that they have designed these covers that go over the "chrome-clear" parts of their lights so that u only see the red circle...looks clean with the cover on (since it matches their paint job) dunno how the signaling works...but my point of this post is that its WAYYY over done...and i wish companies would stop making those lights cause its really ghetto seeing them on every car...

kinda reminds me of when i saw clear back lights for a 1988 GMC truck.

anyhow just my opinion...

 

all you guys think diff. then me... probably cause i'm only 15 and all u guys are like 30??? hahaha ... but i think it'll look pretty good, if its like sharp and ... the red light inside is not round but quite square and very sharp... lol... just an idea!!!...haha

they do look cheap and if one comes out my dad woulnd;t let me put them on...lol!!!!

the cheap clear ones are so fugly and i think its quite dangerous too cause its so hard to ssee the red lites.............

the COVER for altezzas in japan ARE SO COOL...they look so nice.. everything seems so organized..

 

I'm sure your age (and ours) plays a factor, but I bought my CL when I was 18 and I still would never consider putting Altezza's on. They're called Altezza's b/c that's the car that they originally came from. Putting it on any other car is just plain silly. I mean, it's at the point where even the IS300 looks like sh!t with them, now you need tail light covers for them to make it look decent.....

 

you are 15 and you have a TL-S? thats damn impressive.. especially when the driving age is 16 in CT.. but anyway.. i am 23

Don't bag too much on APC my wife works there, and they carry alot more than just the lights..

The only reason why I didn't even consider looking at the Lexus IS300 was because of the stupid looking tail lights. I'm so tired of every little racer having them no matter what kind of car it is.

 

No offesnse, but I think it looks bad. It's like putting the TL down a class or two.

 

This is so funny .. is everyone forgetting that Altezza is the IS300 ... people saying it looks bad on it.. well if there werent all these copycat riceboys out, the IS would be the only car with those lights.. and then it would probably look cool.. I agree.. i HATE the damn things (even on the IS and any stock application of them), but lets give credit where it'd due.. toyota had them first ..
which brings me to my next point.. all these honda boys always ragging on every manufacturer out there.. "honda rulz" and such .. and then they put toyota lights on their cars... I will bet u anything if someone put Civic lights on a toyota or lexus, the honda kids would not stop dissing..

bluefrank - no offense to you or your wife, but APC make such crap! .. I bought a carbon fiber dash kit once for my accord. the thing did not fit at all. I had to spend 2 hours cutting and filing it down to make it fit ... and after that experience, i found out almost every other user of APC products had similar issues with quality.. Altezza light lenses fall out, housings dont fit, trim kits dont fit... its just bad... maybe the quality of their products is better now (about a year later), but I will never buy from them again and would advise anyone against buying from them.

 

The Lexus RX300 has then also...still a bad idea though.

Fiddler -No offense taken bud....You are right in what you said. They did have some quality issues in the past. The company is fairly new. The owner recently went to Asia to negotiate new deals with different manufactures. Hopefully this has been corrected. All I hear though is that they are doing a ton of business right now...The employee discount is pretty good too. When I mod the TL-S with some of there products I'll try to post some pictures..

BTW- I'm trying to talk the owner into using the TL-S as a prototype for future products....Will see.

Playing the guinea pig kind of scares me though....

APC stand for American Product Company, though most of their business is import accesories.

 

Please dont put altezzas on a TL even if they do come out, you'll make me cry.

yea those carbon fiber ones... or those blue tinted onces will be very nice..... or ..... pu the altezzas on then do what the IS300 does...put a body colour cover over the altezzas which only show the brite red parts...lol....it'll be chillin...

or have u guys seen imitaions of the s2000 lites?... i'vve seen one on a prelude and it didnt look like a joke, and really looked deep as if it had a meaning and it was very very attractive and sporty..

My feeling's exactly, and beside's it's too dam small and not enough power.....but the handling and tossability of the car, plus the brakes on it and most of all REAR WHEEL DRIVE!! are great. I still like driving my TL-S a whole lot better than my sister's IS300.

And whoever want's to put Altezza style light's on your TL, you should have gotten a Civic or something you can rice up. Better yet, get one of those Eclipse's I've seen with those dumbass tail light's with the "filled with water" option Talk about quality! And while your at it, why not cruise around with some goldfish in your aquarium tail light's. I'm sure you will get the attention you desire Anyway, to each his own but I don't think it belong's on a TL. Just my opinion.
