when how often should we optimally be changing it? I didn't see it in the maintenance book at all...

I think it's either at 15,000 miles or at 30,000 miles. I'm not sure...some people say 15K and others say 30K.

Please look into the maintenance schedule in the manual. My ATF was changed at 30,000 miles. Next time I will tell them to flush the system and change the filter. In addition, I'm thinking about using a synthetic ATF.

Take a look at page 196/198 of your owner's manual, you won't beleive the time interval that Acura recommends.

BTW, there is NO filter in the transmission to change. You just change/suck out the tranny fluid, add new, and screw the plug back in.
