Post AEM intake doesn't fit 00+

Has anyone fixed this problem? I thought about getting rubber hoses to replace that metal one. What do you think? Chop the engine cover up?

He called me up and said he been messin with it for 2 hrs nad it doesn't fit...i was like you must be doing something wrong...it fits fine...but then i forgot he had a 00...I was kinda thinking man what's wrong with him....LOL

Question

Ya thats right....what i did was make sure that plastic piece sat on the metal clamps instead of directly on the hose so it doesn't cut the hose after a short period. I will probably take the cover off and cut that piece straight across and then sand it down so it looks factory and non one will notice. I played with it for about 30 minutes and it is impossible to line up. It works on the 99 i believe, just not 00+ cars. Not a big deal if u ask me...just needs a little customization.

Let me set the record straight! This isn't a problem at all. Its just a small flaw in the design for the 00+ cars. It still fits on no problem, just that the notch doesn't line up with the valve on the AEM. You can either sit the plastic nub piece on the metal clamps of the valve (like i did) so it doesn't cut the tube after a while, or you can take the plastic cover off, and shave that little piece off (which i plan on doing once the weather is nicer). Its not a big deal at all, I think people are getting the wrong impression.

Ya, its not that big of a problem. I'll probably try to shave that piece off this weekend. I was just wondering if anyone had fixed this problem yet for their 00+.

oh yeah. its not a problem, it just takes a few minutes longer to install. you have to bypass this small radiator. i actually bypassed it a few months before i got the intake

I bet you could show the picture to AEM and they will send you replacement hoses like they have for the CL-S. I emailed them before and they were pretty responsive. Even told me that once they get CARB approved for the CL-S they would send me a sticker. Not that it matters to me since I'm in TX. What sucks though is the amount of money we pay and yet there are still issues such as this. To me a little effort goes a long way in getting great customer satisfaction and repeat business. I love my AEM but because of some minor issues I sometimes wished I'd waited and maybe gone with someone else. I mean we are putting these in 30K+ cars.

I never had a problem with that... Mine fits fine man... Only problem I had with mine was where to mount the second bracket on the middle pipe... Has anyone had this problem... I never used the second bushing but mine looks good and is sturdily in there ...
