Noob fitment questions
Hello all,
I found some BBS with below specs. Will this fit our cars? I don't want to do any mods. I just want to slap it on an roll.
19x8.5 5x114 18 off set front.
19x9.5 5x114 22 off set rear.
If this doesn't fit, what's the best to get on size 19 with 1 or 2 inch drop?

Those offsets are crazy. You'll have mad poke. I'd say 2" over OEM.

I've heard people say +35 to +45 range.

If you plan to drop, plan to add camber and stance it out to.

VTEC just kicked in, yo!

Will poke for sure. You'll need slightly stretched tires if you plan on lowering it enough. Might still rub even if you don't lower it much if you decide to go over a pothole hard enough or over a speedbump fast enough (basically with enough suspension travel it'll likely rub if you don't get narrow tires).

I'm on 9" +30 (which is equivalent to about 8.5" +24) on 225/40 tires and there's quite a bit of poke on a ~2" drop. 8.5" +22 will have about 2mm more poke than my setup.

if the 8.5 +22 is for the front, you will not need "major negative camber". I cant even put a number on major negative camber. naturally you will have negative camber if you lower your car as im sure we all aware, but it depends on how low you plan on going. So lets say you have the same coilovers i have and the same drop "maxed out" and no adjustable ball joints to effect camber, just natural. your camber should be somewhere around -2 or slightly closer to -3. comparing the spec you mentioned assuming its a 19" wheels running the same tire size i have (225/35) here are some figures.
2.1mm further away from the suspension strut. The outer rim will poke out 36.1mm less than 19x10 +5.
dont just go assuming the answers you receive are gospel becuase everyone is bias to their own interpretations.
36.1mm is roughly 1.5 inches. I have -5 front camber and slight pull, no poking. so its a game of measurements.
FYI, the specs you mentioned will stick out 45.7mm more than stock wheel.
my front setup was 82mm "roughly" more than stock, for the rear your fine just need good fender roll. hopefully this helps and doesn't hurt your head, I'm rambling.
