Question Add-on Remote Start

I want to install remote start, but still keep my factory remotes.

Some add-on systems say it will start the car using an Aux. channel on the factory system. Does my 2k TL have an Aux.
channel???

Or do I have to get an Auto Start that you have to hit like
Lock 3 times or something like that?

Also does anyone have a wiring diagram for our cars?

WORD!

I was interested in this as well. Can you reprogram the remote to use the "panic" key to start? or does it have to use the "unlock" 3 times?

hey

i got the remote start on my 02TLS using the factory remote. All i gotta do is hit the unlock button 3 times. I think the unit was the viper 551 and one of there bypass units so i wouldnt have to use a key under the dashboard. What I kinda dont like is that u have to use the key to open the door because once the car is started you cant use the remote anymore. Another thing that annoys me is that if you shut the car off and use the open door lock button in the car it sometimes it will start the car. Other then that its pretty good. Ive run into a problem with mine because when its really cold in the moring it doesnt crank the car enough so the dam thing doesnt start but leaves the parkin lights and heater running.

Remote start

The idea for using the panic is a cool idea!
Does anyone know what kind of signal the
keyless entry module puts out when the panic
is activated???

Hmmmm....

I just found out last night that my roommate got a remote starter on his '99 Grand Prix GT.

The company is called Rattler, and it was 100 bucks for the unit, and 160 bucks wires and installation. Not bad.

But it does require a new remote unit, so you have to carry two. But it's pretty small, and has an Aux button already that you could program.

But I'm curious if it would work on our cars, because we have Vehicle Immobilizer System. My roommate's car doesn't.

He got it installed at Circuit City, so I'm gonna go talk to 'em and get a quote. It's nothing fancy, just a remote start/off, and an Aux button. But that's all I want, because I just want to warm up my car in the winter without going outside.

I just hope they can bypass the Immobilizer System without disabling anything.

But you should also be able to turn the car off using the remote.. Like maybe pressing unlock again 3 times...

Just to let yall know, I just got the whole deal done and threw away my factory remote. I got the top of the line Prestige alarm, remote start, pager for $450, this included the immobilizer that our cars need to start. The only thing that i've noticed is that i cannot leave my lights on anymore. With the old factory alarm, when i close the doors the headlights would go off after,, otherwise the alarm is sweet, especially in Ny with the cold weather..man i just start that baby up and i'm good to go...

Aux?

Is there any type of aux. output on the factory keyless entry?
Like if you press two buttons or anything like that?

Thanks for any help!
