Add me to the New Tranny club
I finally convinced Acura that there was a problem with my tranny. They installed an Oil Jet Pack at 97,000 and told me there was nothing wrong. I brought it back in with 104,000, shifting problems and a transmission fluid leak. They are replacing it under warranty and it should (hopefully) only take 2 days.
Should I get rid of my car now? I have heard so many stories from people about replacement trannys repeatedly failing. Anyone have thoughts on this? Would I have any chance of getting Acura to buy (trade-in) my car at a reasonable rate?

I'm getting my 5th tranny put in right now as we speak. I love my car, but if my 5th one goes, I'm probably going to end up leasing a roadster or something since I have a company car now. Welcome to the tranny club!

as for the tl tranny... do you think once the tranny is rebuilt with better stuff it will hold up? or do you think it's a design issue entirely and no matter how good the parts, it'll just die?

not sure if there will ever be a true fix, looks like it wwas under designed in the 3rd gear clutch pack. if someone can come up with beefed up materials possibly. thats what im/and someone else is checking on. supposidly the MDX packs work and are beefier
