AC Problems... its dead.

Ok so a few days i was ridin around and all of a sudden the ac just quits blowing air, it stops, but everything is still on, it wasnt on auto. So i turn the car off and turn back on and it seems to be working fine. It works fine for about a day but then it starts giving of a slight burning smell. Few hours laters its makes a couple weird noises and goes off again, i thought i could do the turn car off turn car on trick but it only came back on for like 3 seconds exact. So anyways thats my AC story. Can anybody tell me what im looking at as far as repairs and price?

is the connector to the fan motor melted- look under glovebox-very common
or is it an actual ac problem?
can you get fan to operate on command?

We can't give you price unless we know what's wrong. A/9 can get expensive fast.

Quick check if you're non nav turn key to on position do not start car and hold auto and off buttons together for a minute. This does a self check on the electronic controls of the system.

You'll see an alternating "88" pattern and sections lighting up that will tell you a problem.

If you can tell us what parts light up and come back we can save you a diagnostic fee.

I'd suspect the blower motor connector.

i looked under the glovebox and this is what i found. Idk if thats the problem, i just thought it was because it was the only thing that showed signs of being burnt.

You bet your ass! Mines melted a month ago. Picked up a new harness off ebay. Had to get a motor too cause the terminals were burnt too.

You may be able to just clean yours but judging from the look of that wire I'd replace it.

Ok, thanks. How much did you spend on replacements?

New harness: $15
New motor: $48

Pics of mine are up in this thread. https://acurazine.com/forums/2g-tl-problems-fixes-117/ac-heat-stopped-blowing-780825/

You may be able to find one locally at your local dealer. I purchased mine on ebay from acuralynn. I've seen their banners up on here also. New motor came from ebay also. Made by a company named TYC.

Take the motor down. It should be easier, you'll have more room to work with.

you can get a new modified wire connector kit with longer wires
about $15 iirc at the dealer

getting to be a common problem everyone should inspect for- Im guessing summer use of fan on 5 is contributing to the heat prob in wire

Remember to replace the cabin air filters too
