About to chrome my shift plate...

and while I am at it this weekend, I will be painting a few trim pieces in my woman's Jeep Liberty.

I should have no problem with the shift plate. get some graffiti remover and thats about it.

For painting my girl's Jeep parts, what grit sandpaper should I use? After I sand and prime, I was gonna give it about 3-4 coats and then a clear.

How does that sound?

and help or comments appreciated. Thanks

My interior is tan. the shift plate does look cool. There are some pics on here of it doen.

The Jeep interior is black, so I will be painting a dash and console piece silver/aluminum to match the exterior. The limited model has them on there, but i have the urge to do it myself

I will post pics when done.

yeah i just did my shift plate 2 days ago and it came out brilliant; better than i had ever expected... i used this stuff that strips the stain off wood because paint thinner didnt work... you just gotta be patient with it and let it sit in the remover for a bit and if theres any smudges after you wash it off, you gotta just scrub them out with your hands/sponge. 3-4 coats for your girls jeep parts sounds good to me, but im no paint expert. good luck

Well, I just put it back on and it came out SHINY AS HELL!! It really looks awesome.

If anyone is hesitant about doing this, don't be. It really turned out looking good.

Once I get my camera back from the bro this weekend, I will snap a pic for you guys to see.
