99TL Upgrade To DVD-ROM Help!!!!!
I just bought a DVD-ROM for my 99TL that came out of a 2003Tl. Upon installing the unit in the trunk and plugging it in I get no sign of power when I turn the car on. I have the code also, is there something Im missing here maybe I need to unplug the battery cable or should I just assume that the unit I bought is bad?! Help all that have recently gone through upgrades please!?!?!?!?!

I've never done this myself but everything I've read indicates that the DVD unit is a Plug N Play replacement for the hard drive based unit used in the 1999 TL.
Are you sure that it was taken from a 2003 TL?
Check the model numbers against those listed on Paul Mooney's helpful navhelp.com site:

Was your stock navigation unit functioning properly? If so, you might want to hook it up again to confirm that it still works. Maybe you blew a fuse.
Do you get any sort of message displayed on your nav screen?
Do you have any sort of warranty on the part?

make sure all the connections are tight - one of my wires was kinda hard to connect to the DVD unit when I put mine in. If it works and you connected everything right, it should turn right on.
