99-01 Headlight diffuser removable?

Hey are the 99-01 headlight diffusers easily removable? Will they have to be cut out or do they just have some screws holding them in? I was wondering because I might be getting a retrofit done soon and want to remove the entire diffuser to make the retro look oem-ish/clean.

Once you have the headlights open you can just pop the diffusers out. There are no screws holding them in.

you mean that metal shield above the bulb?

its held on by the screw for the bulb retainer clip on 1 side, and just a screw on the other (iirc)

ahh you are talking about the pieces between the bulbs
be careful about keeping orange on corner- its DOT req.

yeahh I'm talking about the low beam area.

And In New Orleans, They don't really care about DOT requirements... As long as the turn signal turns orange when it comes on, it's ok!

So the diffuser for the low beam area should just pop out right guys?

yea, they are pretty easily removed, There are one or two screws you need to remove to get the chrome piece out(you might not have to do this, but im not sure), but after that the diffusers have plastic tabs that hold them in. I ended up breaking one of mine when I removed it, but it wasn't really a big deal.
