i was in my car the other day waiting for my friend and i decided to gas the car a little just to hear the engine roar and plus i had nothing better to do... i started to gas more and more and notice it didn't go over 5500 RPM... it goes to 6 and drops it back down.. i did the same to my friends BMW and i got his all the way to 7000 RPM but did want to pass that.... just want you guys to know in idle if you gas it doesn't go pass 5500...

I believe there's a rev limiter built into the ECU. It won't allow you to over rev the motor saving you from major overhauls in the future. Anyone please feel free to correct me if I am wrong...it's always nice to know as much as possible about your car.
