2003 TL-S Tinting
2003 TL-S Tinting
Hello, wanted to get my TL tinted and wanted to know which Tint I should use. I'm up in Toronto so the weather doesn't get hot in the summer as compared to some of you lucky people down south. I was going to put 35% all the way around.
Any suggestions are appreciated.

Are you gonna do it yourself or have a shop do it? Also I don't know what the legal limit is up there but personally I have 28% on meter( TL has 4% tint on it already I guess) but I always wished I had gotten 20%. Anything under that will for sure attract cops.

I'm in Toronto as well, these are the tints I got for my car. No trouble yet and they look nice. 5% gives u some privacy in the back . I had Ziebarts do mine, cost about 200, lifetime warranty. No complaints about them.
Front sides: 20%
Back sides: 5 %
rear: 20%

I got 30% and it's perfect except on really bright sunny days, then I wish I tried gotten 20%.
30% is pretty dark without overdoing it though. 35% is noticeably lighter. I had that on my old Civic.
Mine are Llumar film. The civic I've had tinted for over 3 years and it's still flawless. Just got the tint on the TLS a few weeks ago.

hell i just got mine done at the dealership, definately didn't pay dealer prices, just talked to the tint guys in the back. most usually charge bout 100 bucks to get it done. and well its at the dealership so its dealer tint. and not to mention they already have most of the tint already cut out. they usually toss on 35 which is nice. i still wanna get my front windshield done. im thinkin 50 percent on it. 35 would be way to dark at night. but 35 is good for the sides and rear. every once in a while i will have to lower my pass window to back up, but no biggie.
There's a place up in Richmond Hill called ' audioheaven' (do a google search). I'm going there next weekend to tint my G. It's highly recommended by some of the various local car forums. I've seen some of their work on some local cars. Guy (Jeff) seems legit.
Depending on what you've done to your car (ie modifications), you might not want to go so dark (ie anything less than 35%). Another thing ... if you live in a dimly lit area at night, that's another reason why NOT to tint so dark ... you can't see a thing (well, I had to, on a couple of times, open my door to make sure I didn't run over anything / didn't fall into a ditch).
I think you're fine using 35% all around. Just a FYI.

Thanks for all of the replies everyone.... and to Derrick as I have contacted Audioheaven already to check things out as I live in the Richmond Hill area. I'm trying to figure out if 35% or 30% is the way to go, but I guess I'll make a decision once I see the tint in front of my eyes.
I've got 35s in the front, and the back wrapped in 20... Quite happy with this combination...
I use Madico tint, and have always been happy with the durability of this make... I had this same make on my 1988 Integra and it still looked great after 15 years... No bleaching...not even a bit of it turning purple...
If it is important for you to maintain a consistent tint shading across the entire car, I would lean toward 35%... I don't know if 5% is really going to make a big difference... But I have been stopped for tint before, and I would avoid going too dark if your area enforces any tint laws...

I have 35 in the front and 20 all the way around the back too. I really like this combination. At first I was going to go with 20 all the way around but the guy brought me back and showed me a different car they were working on that had 20% on the back and it was way to dark for VA. The tint laws are redicilous here in VA its like 40(something) in the front and 35 in the back.
But back to the point, I am very happy with my setup now, its not too dark but also its not too light
Just perfect!

I got mine done at Crystals Window Tinting in Barrie. Cost me $200 for a life time warranty. I have 15% in the front and 5% in the back. At night I can see fine and cops have yet to bother me. What i like about my tint is when you look at it, it looks the same not like some people have 5% in the back and then like 50% in the front and it looks like shit.
Especially when you have a girlfriend!!
5% gives u some privacy in the back
