2002 TL - Help... foglights

I have already installed new brighter bulbs for the High beam HB3's. Now when i try to install the fog lights, I have some trouble. Following manual, I remove the bolt... but when i try to pull out the fog light.. it seems stuck and i don't wanna break anything. I've tried for 20 minutes to pull it out so i can change bulb but won't budge. Anyone know if manual forgot to mention something. Looks like there's a latch somewhere in picture but there's no way to reach it without removing bumper. I'm pretty sure i don't have to do that tho. Thanx for your help.

Thumbs up

Haha yeah. Boy you meant quick when you said quick. I tried using flat earlier before post but i chickened out cuz i wasn't sure if i was going to break light housing. After your message I took cloth to keep flat from scratching bumper while i gave a little presssure. Popped out real quick and ez. Thanx. I'll show you result after i find digital cam. Thanx again. (HB3 65W/135W and HB4 55W/125W)

I used same brand of bulbs i got off ebay.. safe 55W and 60W bulbs... on integ. The really lit up the road real well for bulbs taht cost less than sylvania cool blue. Not HID but considerablly brighter and whiter than all halogens i tried from sylvania(cool blue/silverstar). Only costs $12 bux. No melts or blow outs for 1.5 years +. I recommend them to anyone trying to get nice inexpensive lights.

I need help in getting the clip to come off the bulbs for the high beams before pulling them out off the headlights socket. Any ideas if I am doing it all wrong? I cannot get the clip to release the bulb.

Any advise will be appreciated.

Cap.

Yeah those clips are really stiff. What i figured out is you open it... barely slide it over the notch. Then after that.. no more clip.. use all ur power just wiggle it off and forget about numbing ur hand out holding the clip. If all else fails.. you can carefully use a small flat head to lift it and wiggle. It takes time to figure but shouldn't take you long. It's not too easy the first few times... but should be simpler your 3rd time around.

I used 80W versions of these...

Then GOLD 55W versions of these...

And now I currently use 80W versions of these...

After using the stocks....more high watt generics....sylvanias...then eaglights to Maxs...I doubt burnt wiring harness is an issue anymore. I've owned my TLS for more than 2.5 years now.

Nope...only @ night & in bad weather. Although...the fogs see more action than the HID headlights. (I have the foglight mod)

Talking

I have used 80 W before, but those are in my integ. Older cars don't have plastic housings so I use those without hesitation. Heck, my friend uses 100W bulbs in his 1980ish 325i. Newer cars use plastic so there is a risk. But if yours hasn't melted for 2.5 years that's a good sign. Here are some pics of my car. Camera makes them seem a bit less white than what you see with naked eye. I'm loving my car alot, got it for a deal with warranty up to 2008 on Friday during Thanksgiving weekend. Paid $23300 for it.

Those eaglite's were the first ones i ordered online on ebay for my integ before i went to koba. Those were bright but weren't white so i changed. They are good tho so i still have them for back up.
