Hey Mstyle, did you do it yourself? If yes, is it easy to do and how long did it take you to accomplished the job? Which Acura dealer did you got it from in NY? Is $167 including or excluding tax?

You could try the site I've listed - the bulb you are looking for is #7440 - Amber.

I got them at Park Ave Acura in New Jersey. Rallye wanted $216 Brooklyn wanted $187 and Acura in Cherry Hill I think wanted $189 I think...Overall Park Ave the cheapest...Hurry though I was talking to John in Parts and he said they were thinking of raising the prices because of the demand. I called on Monday 03/19 and picked them up on 03/20...I sweet is that? He had 10 of them coming in

I got a bulb that two fillaments light at the same time unlike the normal turn sig bulb that has one. I had to modify the base and I got sylvania cause they don't paint it yellow, the glass is yellow.

 

Does the harness part for the turn signal from your 99 fit snug in the hole for the back of the 02 tailight?

 

Sweet color on that turn signal..what kind of bulb is that???

The turn signal doesn't fit snug all the way.. but you can kind of screw it on so it will stay on without tape....

 

Actually NightHawk how did you mod the turn signal?????Is it Hard?

 

The easy way out on the bulbs is to go for the harnesses for the "02 tails.They are about 10 dollars each and make it a plug and play deal.Here where I work we are stocking both the tails and the harnesses,we also have the correct bulbs for the turn signal.If you need the tails give us a call at Park Ave Acura(201)587-0029.Jens

Jens: Is it possible to get part #'s for the harnesses. My local parts guy looked at me like I had two heads when I told him I wanted to switch tails. I'd love to be able to just give him part #'s so I don't have to explain what I'm trying to do. Thanks.

I cut the housing on the bottom of the bulb with a Dremel

 

IMO I don't like the amber blinkers, I painted the old bulbs with red engine paint,color looks real good it's a lighter red but it's not pink. I wanted to totally eliminate the amber but didn't want to get harrassed by cops for hyperwhite rear blinkers. so now I have the hyperwhite in front and red in rear.

For anyone who has installed them, do you need a wiring harness for the 01 as well? Or is it only required for 99 and 00 models??
I know you gotta change the bulbs too.

Can someone please confirm this??

I may have missed it but did any notice the blinker light didn't fit that well? I used silicon to hold it in place though. But for the price I got it for, major difference in cosmetics.

 

Don't mean to jump, but what you missed was this whole post.

It mentions that the new tails use new bulbs which require a new harness for a perfect fit.
