2001 tl type

2001 tl type

Hi guys, how can I tell the type of my TL? Is there any special indicator?

It should say Type S on the trunk. If it just says 3.2 TL, then it's just the base model. If you don't have the badges on the trunk, then there are other ways to tell if it's an S (i.e. wheels, kit, lights, etc.) or you could always look up the VIN.

-If the tailights are red with a white stripe in the top it could be a type s
-gear shifter has an "s" on the top
-metal pedals I think?
-white cluster


If it doesn't have any of this then it's a base.

you have a 2001. there is no special "type" for that year.

They only made the type s in 2002 and 2003

Like said above. You have a 2001. There was only the base model from 99-01. From 02-03 there was a base model and a Type-S

Yep. When I was turbo'd I was going to fit a female USB connection there so I can plug my laptop into that to tap into the AEM EMS.
