Hi forum, new Acura owner here....2000 tl non Navi that my mother in law gave me. Super stoked as I’ve wanted one forever. Anyways doing the stereo overhaul..I’ve looked around and researched to see that owners confirm a 6.5 front speaker size and most folks buy or make ring adapters for aftermarket speakers with bigger depth requirements. My question is, if i make 3/4-1 inch mdf spacer rings will there be enough speaker clearance to get the interior panel back on correctly. My aftermarket speakers are 2.85 inner depth and 5.7 cut out. Hmm I could be wrong, but I do believe they’re a bit too big for the door panel, it’s pretty thin.
