105K Timing Kit

Any suggests of where to pick up a full timing belt kit (belt, water pump, seals, bearings)? I'm located in Canada, btw.

Thanks. I'll request a shipping price from them. Will the tensioner/tension adjuster work on a '99?

The Aisin kit is what I installed too...TKH-001. If you search around the net, you might find it a little cheaper.
It has the exact same OEM parts....they look identical with the same markings.
This would be a good time to change your serpentine belt tensioner and the 2 accessory belts too.

Yers, I planned on that. The only question I have about the timing belt tensioner is if the newer, longer pin ones like in this kit will work on the 99 models which came with the shorter clip ones?

I don't think so. They may have a different bolt-on position. Isn't there a 99 specific kit? Make sure the kit works for your car before buying it.
Ask the moderator, he may know for sure.

I'm sure it will bolt in as the engine block is the same for the last 13 years. The only thing might be that its too long for the cover but they look the same as well. I'll keep digging before I order. I can't seem to find many of the older tensioners online, which might be saying something.

I also notice that the kit has no seals with it. Are these necessary to replace if the old ones are in good condition?

You mean the crank seal? I replaced mine when I did the timing belt. Very easy. I also replaced the crankshaft position sensor since it was around $40.

As for that tensioner, go to the Acura dealer and ask the parts manager. Maybe the newer tensioner supersedes the 99 one.

Ok. The tension adjuster for 2000-2003 works on the 1999 (according to the local Honda dealer). Since I'm getting an underdrive pulley, I needed some new accesory belts as well. I pieced together a "kit" from amazon.

Gates KS15701 Camshaft Seal

Bando 4PK1080 OEM Quality Serpentine Belt

Bando 6PK1120 OEM Quality Serpentine Belt

Gates KS15701 Camshaft Seal

Bosch 97216 New Water Pump

Gates TCK286 Timing Belt Component Kit

Beck Arnley 052-3936 Engine Crankshaft Seal

The tension adjuster I'll get from ebay. About $270 altogether.

That's actually a very good price for all those components. It's nice to replace all that stuff when doing the timing belt so you can have peace of mind for years down the road. I am in Canada too, and if I bought this stuff here, $500 would not be enough...

Yeah. it looked a good deal and I could select components that I wanted. I am exchanging 3 hours of a mechanics time to help me with the job for 1/2 months board for his horses (about $150). I figure its a good swap.

Update

Finally getting around to the timing belt job. Crank nut required a bolt heater to remove but it came easy enough after it was warmed up. Timing belt was Honda original and was cracked. Hydraulic tensioner leaking. Cam seals weeping slightly. All engine mounts still good. Tomorrow we do the water pump and then put it all back together. The timing belt cover even has a hole for the longer 2000-2003 tensioner so no worries if you can't get a 1999 model. Car has about 92000 miles on it.
