10000k? I seen 8000k in real life and that doesn't light up the road at all, I hate to drive your car at night.
initial D huh? Don't tell me that 10000k are on the Toyota AE86 haha (I'm just messing with you)

yeah....stock ballast cant handle 10000k...if those are really 10000k bulbs i'd expect your ballast to burn out sooner then it should
agreed with hzm82.
if you ever drive on the highways that dont have any extra lighting, basically, the guys with halogens will have a better visibilty than you, even though you have 'HID'
best output is still stock bulbs, 6000K is max I would put.
10,000K would look good in fogs, not headlights.

Quick Question - Most newer cars(audi, bmw, etc..) that have are HID are all 6000K, correct. They look much bluer that our stock bulbs, but they don't light the road as good. So my bulbs in my 2000TL light the road up better then a brand new audi with the 6000k bulbs? Or am I missing something.
Even though they look good, I just don't see the point of getting less light output from your lights. Wouldn't waste my money on it.

As far as 10000Ks, might as well drive with the lights off.

the kelvin temperature is not related to the wattage that the bulb is run at (35W for HID). I dont see why a 10000K bulb will not work with an oem ballast.
The ballast generates the 35W into a lot of power which is why they don't want u touching it or you could die. Our ballast can only output 6000K at most. Those are not 10000K in the picture, just a shot taken at a certain angle or the lighting was different. I saw 8000K in person, the road is not lit at all, just blue bright light. I can't imagine what 10000K would look like.

If I am correct, the reason they look bluer is because they have projector headlights while ours is reflectors. I believe all stock cars come with 4300K HIDs. And yes, stock HIDs will light up the road much better than 6000Ks.

i really hate it when people say they want 6000k or higher HIDs because "it looks like audi and bimmer HIDs"
what they don't know is that if you just look at the headlight it looks purple/bluish, but the light on the ground is WHITE

As many pictures as I've taken of my 6000K, I honestly see no difference between the "10000K" and BlueXTC's pics of his 6000K.
I think those 10000K are fake, either the guy who made this post is full of it or he was sold on 10000K

A total overkill. Even 6000K is more than enough for real world application, while combining the cool looks of HID. My stock 4200K still draws attention and compliments. Upgrading the headlights is not on my priority list, but even if I were to change it, I wouldn't go above 6000K. Above that, you start getting purple tints. I like my lights white, not purple.
i actually like the purple hue i get from 6000k bulbs. i hear D2S 6000k has lil bit higher color temperature than the D2R. i wish i had D2S, but didn't feel like grinding out another slot to conver d2s to fit d2r
I CANT SEE PICTURES
for some reason i cant acces InitialD's gallery....where do i find clear headlights? $$$?
since i dunt know anything about balast system, id say my 6000ks are tight.

yea i think the stock 4200k bulbs are little brighter but i honestly can't tell the difference. some nights my 6000k seems bright as hell...and some nights it looks dim. i think it has to do with your eye adjusting to night time differently depending on the moon lights...correct me if i'm wrong. some nights i see better and some night i feel like bat walking down the street.
