03 TLS Dyno #s

So i got the TLS dyoned saturday. I am happy with the results. I just wanted to see what kind of power I was putting down before I put the SC on next week. Mods are Custom 3" CAI, XS headers, UR underdrive pulley set, IM spacer, and 2.5" B pipe w/ stock mufflers.

Nice numbers. Double-check that you can use the underdrive pulleys with a SC.

Nice numbers. We have more or less the same type of mods except I don't have the TB spacers. I put down 242 whp the last time I had it dynoed. I can't wait to see what you put down with the SC on.

thnx man...yea a couple of guys on .net did a b4 and after dyno with the grounding kit and made 5 whp after the install so that may have somethin to do with the extra 5 HP u got on me and u have the comptech stuff ...cant compete with that...ill be posting dyno #s with the SC at the end of the month

Nice looking dyno there! The torque numbers are quite a bit higher than stock (are they not?).

Very nice, not enough people getting the 2nd gen TL on the dyno, and tuning it. Glad to see you're sharing.

Honestly, I wouln't be surprised if the 5 was just difference in weather or something along those lines. Our cars would be neck and neck. And yeah, I got Comptech, but it just goes to show you that spending the extra $$ on Comptech may not even be worth it. I paid close to $3000 for headers and Catback exhaust ...I am sure you probably spent less than half that. Our numbers look almost exactly the same. I just wish we could pump out more TQ other that doign forced induction. I've thought of getting a VAFC but unless I get a SC, it's not worth it.

The first run is almost never the best numbers. It's kinda like a "Let's see what happens" type of run.

Not to hijack you're thread, but here is my most recent dyno sheet. So people should save their money. Comptech is great, but I think the qaulity of other brands out there are comparable to what Comptech can provide. You actually got better TQ numbers than I did. Mine didn't even cross over 200.

they tried doing the 1st few runs in 4th gear...4 th gear has a speed cut at 6100rpms which is why the dyno peaked at 217whp...i went over to them and told them to do the pulls in 3rd gear so they coud take it to redline and show the peak HP which is why i have 1 run of 217whp in 4th and 236 in 3rd...hope that explains

We should make a dynograph section on the TL side like they have on the CL side. What do you guys think?

Yeah, I think we should do that. We'll see if we can get a mod to sticky it.

What do you think you'll put to the wheels with the SC? I would hope you could get over 300whp for the money.

thnx man...there were lots of people taking pics, i didnt know anyone snapped any pics of the TL tho ...it was funny cause you could see in everyone's faces they thought that my car was gonna be boring or not put down decent #'s but once he opened it up everyone started getting closer to the dyno and once VTEC kicked in it got real loud and everyone's faces lit up...after that everyone started askin me questions about it and how fast it was and all that good stuff...felt like a celeb for a hott sec lol

i would hope to put down 290..i dont see why the SC wouldnt add 50-60whp but you never know...once i get some extra funds ima grab the HBP and an e-manage and probably do the 6spd swap so i dont blow my tranny prematurely that should throw me well over 300whp...but for right now ima just run the standard boost pulley and just make the car look a little better cosmetic wise

Congrats on the blower! Comptech probably made the stock pulley for the auto blower smaller than the 6mt pulley because of the weak tranys. I would start preparing for the 6MT now! I doubt the autotragic will hold up for long with that power. In fairness though, there was a CL guy here back in the day who had nitrous, and a 9lb pulley on the blower as well as other goodies, he reinstalled the OEM automatic after he had trouble with the DR. EVIL trany rebuild and ran it without issue for some time until he finally sold it. If anyone knows who I am talking about, how much whp was he making on the dyno?
