'02 TL-S Part out value?
'02 TL-S Part out value?
My '02 TL-S was involved in a rear end collision. It's driveable but since value of it's only about $7500, it's totalled. Damage was the trunk, rear bumper, rear 1/4 panels, trunk floor. Sucks that I just spent 3K to do the tranny 2 months ago. Was wondering what the part out value could be? It has 178K on the chassis. It was in otherwise in almost excellent condition, new brakes all around as well. I'll get another $800 if I let IAA come pick up the vehicle. I was just trying to figure out if it's worth me trying to part it out or not?
I'm glad I didn't have the timing belt done, which I had just bought the parts recently but hadn't had the chance to get that done.
Thanks,
Rob.

I know the tranny should be worth something, but even if someone wanted that, it would be kind of hard to do in the driveway if ya know what I mean. I guess I could throw a cover over it so the neighbors don't get upset at a hunk of junk in the driveway for a month or so.

Well, I am still deciding on what to do. A guy at Acura might want to buy it off me, but haven't discussed pricing. If I go through the salvage company, I have to have to drive the car home and have the car sit in my driveway until the title comes in then they'll pick it up.
Now I also have to decide what to get as a replacement vehicle. I Found a great deal on an '05 Accord, but not sure if I'll be happy with it in the long run, especially with regard to it's external styling and it being a a 4 cyl. Factors in it's favor are low mileage, economical, immaculate inside with all options but no navi. I Really would like an '05 RL, but they're still a little more than I'm willing to spend at the moment, especially with just buying the wife a new minivan to cart the kids around in only a couple months ago. I was also thinking about an '05 or '06 Cadillac V6 STS, but most of them are a little more than I think I want to spend or the mileage is a little more than I'm comfortable with, and I'd be concerned about reliability and upkeep with the caddy.

My dad just got an 05 RL about last year at this time and wasn't looking to spend that much either. But after driving it he loved the sh-awd and the interior features. That thing is loaded with little gadgets. If you decide to buy it you wont be disappointed even with the extra price tag.
