02 TL Base - Install Navi Screen/ Bluetooth

Hi Everyone,

02 stock TL base. Looking to update my radio to navi/ bluetooth.

Looking for best dash mount kit, optimum screen size to use etc.

Have looked at a few aftermaket dash mount kids and reviews are garbage. Have looked for OEM navi dash kit and could not find one.

Thanks!

Paul

Well there is no OEM Navi "Kit". The Navi models have a different dash cover to accomodate the Navi head which also has the HVAC controls integrated. You could find all of the components on eBay but map updates stopped in 2013.

Here's are a few recent threads on this.

Thanks for this!

I was thinking of getting the navi dash mount and adding an updated Android gps/ bluetooth. I've read some of the dash kits don't properly fit or are poor quality?

That's basically what I did - my forum thread was linked above and has my build album which goes into detail on everything. You'll need the Navi dashboard cover and the Navi mounting bracket, along with access to a 3d printer for the HVAC control relocation.
Don't use my .stl that I uploaded in my thread yet - I need to make a small change. There's a gap that I can live with, but I'd like to fix it before having others try and do the mod themselves.

Hey Arkady could you make a version without the USB and cubby?

Sure, I was going to fix the gap I mentioned this weekend - I'll make a version without the USB and cubby as well. Note that the cubby is excellent for holding your phone - I've routed my USB connection cable through the back so my phone and it's wires are hidden out of the way when I'm using Android Auto on my headunit.
