Angry $400 for Springs Install???

I went to a reputable imports shop and they quoted me 400 for installing my Hr springs. Is this correct guys? This is way too much from what Ive heard . They told me 400 and that includes an alignment. How much does it run to have them installed the correct way ? I was thinking 150 or so .

That is way too high. I'd shop around if I were you. Should only be $200 max w/the alignment.

WOW....no thank you.

I would not pay more than $200 for springs installed. Let's say $250 with aligment. It takes me 3 hours to do it myself. That's without major tools, and working on the sun with a one jack.

Any mechanic could do it it less than 3 hours. Let's say $80/h is $240. No way $400.

I paid $300 with alignment at the dealer, I'ld think an import shop would be less than that.

Thanks Guys I knew it was too high. I was in the shop when someone called and asked how much it would cost to lower a 88 bmw 325 and they said it would be 380. A few seconds later the guy kept saying hello hello. Once the person heard 380 they hung up . I am going to probably go to a friend who works at the Honda dealer. Thanks!!

I was quoted $260 ($65/hr for 4 hours) with alignment. Not cheap, but more reasonable than $400.

Maybe he thought you were gonna buy the springs from him too? 200 labor + 150 Springs + 50 Alignment = 400. That would make more sense. Otherwise that guy is just plain nutz!

Holy shiat!!!!! 400 bucks...are you kidding..they better dip your springs in 14 karat gold for that price....no way man, i just ordered H&R sports springs, cost me 170 for springs and 120 for install...Went to acura, and they use laser alignment machines, and they quoted me about 50 bucks for 4 wheel alignment..SO the entire deal including springs/install/alignment shoudln't cost even 400 bucks..That place is trying to RIPPPPP you off.

I've got the same problem.... Got my springs from Tim and a local performance shop wants $322.00 for install + 4-wheel alignment. Only problem is they're booked up for 2 weeks. Argh!

Called my Acura shop and asked what they'd charge for the same thing... they want $432.00! 110 bucks more... but I can get it done now. It's also the dealership doing the install, so they can't complain about 'em later.

Decisions, decisions!

$125 in NOVA, I got a great deal. Also, do i really have to get an alignment done? i have checked my tires and there seems to be no excessive wear on them?

the best thing you could do for your car is to at least get an alignment check done.

that will tell you if you need one.

I got my comptech springs installed for $100 dollars at a store in Los Angeles. They have a great looking store with great service.

I was so grateful because I dropped off my car and came back in an hour and a half and it was done...
