RaLlycross Picture Thread

Just pictures of my Rallycrossing adventures with my 05 RL. No mods beyond a set of oversized winter tires and an intake. The SH-AWD and 290hp has proven that this 4100lbs boat can still be competitive against WRX's and STI's. Surprisely tail happy under throttle as well.

Eh maybe, this one is no spring chicken. Early build 2005, 205k, several rust spots on body, ruined seats, and typical 05 RL problems. I got it for $3,900 and after the repairs I did to it its probably worth less than $5,000 to me. Compare that to guys that do this stuff in brand new 2015 WRX's.

My initial thoughts were the same as Taco's, but I figured something like ^that was the case. We can sacrifice a few for the sake of hooning, right?

COOL!! I'm glad to hear it wasn't your daily or anything that you decided to use as a rally car haha.

Have you done anything for weight reduction? I think with the drivetrain in these cars it would be quite the competitor out there, but the weight would be the biggest issue.

Really curious to know more.

Actually it is one of my dailys (damn nice one as well). :P These things are plenty strong enough not to have many issues with breaking things. Yes the weight is an issue, but its not as bad as you would think. The main issue is the lack of a clutch or handbrake to get around sharp turns. I might be adding an actual handbrake and I am currently researching swapping in a TL SHAWD 6MT trans. I did kill a few 200k motor mounts at my last event, oops.

A 200k motor mount had lived two lives already.
