Urgent tire question
I loved the 19" wheels on my Elite/Advance 2012 TL SH AWD.
I have an opportunity to pick up a mint set for my winters. They are the same 245/45/19 19x8 wheels - so I'm assuming there is no reason these wont work on an RLX right? Just want to make sure I'm not missing anything.

The bolt pattern is the same on both wheels 5x120, but i think the offset is different. I believe the RLX wheels are +50mm, and the TL wheels are +55mm. I think that means that the TL wheels are going to be a little more tucked in, than what the RLX wheels are. I don't think that would make a big difference though......I am sure someone more knowledgeable will reply.....

Thanks PGEORG. I appreciate the reply. From the research I've done, I do believe the only difference is the offset as you mentioned going from 50mm to 55mm. I assume the thread size is the same too?
I've been reading that a 5mm difference will not be an issue for suspension clearance - hope that's right too!
Would anyone know if the TL TPMS sensors would work on the RLX?

The updated TPMS sensor for the 2012 TL has the same part number as the RLX TPMS sensor. I would assume that the wheels you are buying would have the older TMPS sensors, not the updated ones. Maybe the seller can confirm? I am including the TPMS part numbers for each below, and you can also see the older TPMS part number. I am sorry but i don't know if the older one will work with the RLX.....

It can mean the difference that would cause a wide tyre to make contact with suspension components in stressful maneuvers.
I would be very sure of the exact offset and the impact of any change in offset.
A lower number could mean extra stress on hubs, or contact with the wings.
A higher number could mean contact with suspension components.

Those are good looking wheels compared to what we have, though.
I understand why you would want to do it.

Just a warning that in actual practice, 5 mm can be significant.

Thanks George. Due to the rarity of the RLX, unfortunately no one, including my dealer, could confirm that these wheels would definitely fit. The only way to know for sure is to test fit them, and logistically that was a problem with this particular set. I did look at my current wheels and there really is not much space to the suspension/brakes, so as you said, 5mm is a significant difference.
I agree that they would make a nice looking winter set up for sure - so I'm not giving up on the idea, but I no longer have concrete plans in place to make it happen at this point in time.

So both the TL and RLX wheels are 19x8? And the only difference is 5mm between offsets? 5mm is a hair over 3/16 in, so if both wheels are the same width, a higher offset means the wheels will be ~3/16" closer to suspension components.
Whether or not the "spokes" of the wheel are any closer to the caliper depends on the curvature/style of that particular wheel.
Overall I think you would be okay, especially since you are using OEM Acura wheels. But it would be best to measure how much space you actually have to be sure.

I went with the RLX OEM 18in wheels, with Nokian Hakkapeliitta R2 245/45R 18s. I really don't like going 19in for snow tires, because its much easier to damage a wheel/tire in the winter.
