XM Traffic stopped working
XM Traffic stopped working
Traffic signal just stopped yesterday. The "range" highlight on the scale is gone, as well as the traffic incidents selection. I had XM resend the signal twice with no luck. I am running my backup copy of 4.63, that worked fine for about a month. Everything else on Nav seems to work. Anybody encounter this or have a thought?
Wait. Do either of these:
1) Push the Voice Command activation and say, "Display Traffic".
or
2) While in the nav screen, push the big button, then choose "display icons" and then ensure that the traffic icons are set to display.
Both do the same thing. Fair bet this is the glitch. If your car has spirits of the dead children used as ballast in the factory, they sometimes turn off the traffic icons. It's a well-known fact, although often denied.

The traffic icon, as well as the traffic incidents go from being selectable to grayed out about 15 min into the drive. When the traffic icon is selectable, I make sure it is turned on. Support from XM is practically worthless....
I'd try the battery reset trick before the dealer (if you haven't already). It sounds strange, but sometimes rebooting the car does indeed solve these gremlins...
If it works when you're first driving, then goes bad, but works again later when you're "first driving" again, it sounds like an Acura issue rather than an XM problem. It looks like you're getting the signals from XM.
Frustrating, to be sure.

To quote someone else in the forum- it was an immaculate repair. Got in car today after work, and Poof! Started working again! I will wait til it happens again and try the battery disconnect. Thanks all for the heads up on that, as I had never even considered it was anything but a satellite problem.
Nav Traffic Not Working (with icons)
Lately, my NAV Traffic here in Southern California stopped working. The traffic icon is highlighted, but the color-coding doesn't appear on-screen, and there are always "No Traffic Incidents within 30 miles" when I press the Traffic Incident menu.
I called XM, and they sent "refresh messages" to the unit with no affect. They are now saying to bring the car to the dealer because it isn't their issue.
I'm leery of that because after my recent renewal, I had NAV traffic and no radio despite repeated "refreshes". It took several calls to get that resolved, and needed higher level escalation.
Does the battery disconnect really work? I'd also consider (unhappily) a memory wipe from the diag menu.

I too had a very similar manifestation and all along it was XM and their accounting BS. They said I don't have Traffic but I do and the web account shows no traffic subscription but I do. Escalate higher in customer support and rattle some cages. 99% = XM TX, 1% = problem with the RL, I would be very reluctant to reset anything on the RL - it will cause more than it cures with XM issues.
