Watch your minutes on Onstar

I just got hooked up, last week, on Onstar with 30 minutes of complimentary phone time. Whe I checked it this morning I was told I had 0 minutes with no useage.
I called customer service and they reset the time to 30 minutes. I was told to check the minutes as I may have a hardware problems that is zeroing out my minutes! Not sure what that means but I will continue to check.

Rich - dtrose posted a pdf of the TSB for 05-022 detailing the XM issues many of us have had. Within that notice I saw there is also a reference to TSB 05-028 concerning loss of Onstar minutes, though it says it happens when the battery is dead. Still worth pursuing as you aren't the only one who has noted inconsistencies. The full pdf link is here but this is the specific stuff about OnStar:

3. Service Bulletin 05-028, Product Update: OnStar Control Unit Loses Minutes
The OnStar control unit loses its memory whenever the battery is disconnected or goes dead. This
memory stores the number of minutes remaining on the client’s Personal Calling account.
The repair is to reprogram the OnStar control unit with the OnStar control unit reprogramming kit.
Use the OnStar Answer/Call End button in the customer’s presence to verify account status because
approximately:
1. 57% of customers have zero free minutes left.
2. 28% of customers have some free minutes left.
3. 15% of customers have purchased minutes.

Agreed. I think somebody else (maybe you, don't really remember) had posted saying their minutes had been used and I think many of us questioned why he was nitpicking on the minutes - my appologies to whomever that was. But yes, as Karl pointed out - there is a TSB for this, I would go to your dealer regarding the TSB for this as well as the XM and battery drain issue.

Interesting thread to bump. 1) Make sure the A/C and door handles are robust. 2) Be prepared to get new wheels or drop $2.2k on tires.

I'm waiting for the dealership to get back to me for a test drive. The vehicle has aftermarket rims and tire seems to have 70 percent tread.the body seems to be straight and the Rams have no curb rash.
