Want to add a subwoofer and amplifier

So I've got my hands on this PPI amp that I want to use with my RL. Would like to add some bass to the stock system. Has anyone added an amp and sub to their system without any problems to their current radio or is their a thread out there that would show me how to do this?

Here is a link to the amp that I have sitting in my closet currently:

I remember seeing a couple threads on this - should be able to search.
The biggest problem is the ANC.

I hook up an aftermarket amp and sub. I also kept my stock sub also. Just tap into the subwoofer wires with a line output converter(hi-low) behind the seat. they sell some that have a remote turn on lead for the amp remote wire if not just find and auxilary port in the fuse box to turn on your amp. Lmk if you have any more questions.

T-jay,

I'm looking into adding an amp and sub into my RL and need to know where to tap the subwoofer signal from. You said that it's behind the seat but which one? Do you remember what color the wires are?

Thanks.

The only issue i had with tapping from the subwofer wire was it lead to ground noises. When the door was open i had a humming sound, so what i did was tap it from the door speaker. The key to that is lower interior bass in the audio setting and use your factory subwoofer as Mids. The color scheme for the wire on the amp, not sure off hand but ill look into it.

A couple of questions..

How's it going? I was wondering where is the best place to bring in the power wire from the engine into the car? Did you drill a hole? If so, where? Also after reading this thread should grab the speaker wires from the door for the line output converter so I have no "active noise cancellation" problems? Any info would be appreciated.

Thanks,
Drew

I drilled a hole in the firewall near the gas pedal.

For ground im assuimg your amp is in the trunk, if it is what i did was took a zero gauge wire and ran the wire it to the bottom of the car chaise. This can be accomplish by running wire underneath spare has a a small gap where you can run wire to the underneath of the car.
