Verizon Palm Treo 700w and '06 RL
Hello all,
Verizon's website says the Treo 700w will work with some caveats in the RL. I can dial out from the car, but incoming calls are routed to the phone.
What happens on an incoming call is:
Phone rings, radio cuts off.
I press the steering wheel button to connect and the call goes to my phone. The calling party hears me say hello but they hear it from the microphone in the Treo.
I must pick up the phone and talk as though I had no Hands Free system.
Does anyone know how to fix this?
I am sure it must be a setting that is not set properly.

If it does that, there is a very good possibility that the firmware in the phone needs to be updated. It simply doesn't have the correct software on the phone to make it work.
Over time verizon and palm/microsoft will release updates that you can get for the phone.
Other than that, how do you like the 700w?

Hello,
I only got the 700w last week and I am a bit clumsy with it yet. It seems not to crash as often as the Treo 650 which I also own.
The Treo's firmware is up to date. Unless something was released today.

I was hoping to get a Treo 700W. Verizon messes this stuff up. Look how many phones are compatible from Cingular and then compare to Verizon. In some cases the same model works on Sprint, but not on Verizon so its not a CDMA issue I just don't get it!!

Hi all,
I finally got the Treo 700w to work with my RL on incoming and outgoing calls. I believe I may have linked the 700 to an earlier paired device. I deleted all pairings and began anew. It is working.
