Hey all, first post about a 15 year old car, might not be the right place but any who...

My 2005 RL all of the sudden won’t recognize the key fob. And will only turn on if key is used. The second it is in key on position my car won’t stop honking. It will start and drive right away, but i am getting a error code saying my key fob isn’t detected, obviously. I’ve tried new batteries, reprogramming my key, opening the doors and shutting them then locking the drivers door. And nothing seems so solve. Please flame me with answers like most people do here, but still would be obliged. Thanks.

 

Is it honking like a car alarm? If so, that's probably what it is. It doesn't recognize the key so it thinks you're steeling it. IdK maybe?
is the car battery new? These Rls do funny things when the battery gets low. You not have to research how to pair a key fob with the car.
