Does anyone know what size is the bulb inside the glove box. I'd like to replace it in LED. I saw a round cover. is the cover screw on snap out? I don't want to put force and break it.

I ended up calling the dealer and I was told that it's one whole piece light bulb with housing.

 

It is very likely this bulb T5 -14v - 1.4watt

Well Chas2 I called my local dealer and the guy couldn't give me a straight answer. I will ended up opening the light housing to see the actual bulb so I can order my led replacement.

 

I just tried to take a look at mine. Snapped the lens cover off and think I just made a mistake. It appears to be glued on and now the bulb housing is loose above the glove box housing. Any suggestions?

 

It would appear that the part is now all a single assembly for about $7-8 from an internet parts store. Del Rey Acura is easiest one I have found to order from (acuraoemparts.com), though not necessarily the best priced.

 

You can use an led light bulb for the acura rl. I bought it on ebay "10 pieces of Brand New, Cool White 7000K T5-5050-1SMD " seller yitamotor, item # 251581311804

 

IIRC, the glovebox light assembly twists counterclockwise in its mounting location and then comes out. It'll be on a kind of short leash due to the wires, but you can take the housing apart pretty easily and replace the bulb. It is a T5.

 

The actual bulb number from Acura is: 35505-TA5-A51.
