navtogo

Anyone have this for our rl?? Its so we can play dvds right??? Anyfeed back appreciated. Thanks

Dom in the group buy seciton makes these, I think you can get a PNP one for 225 shipped, which is a great deal. The converter adds a video input in ot the factory navi screen so you can plug in a dvd player.

I just finished installation on my RL. The pnp unit works great. The dvd can be played in motion by a flip of a switch. I install the dvd player on the small door from the back seat to the trunk. I also added a rearview camera to the vid2 input. By adding a second switch, I can watch the back camera while in motion. The whole set up runs about $500.

Its not acura oem camera. Model#NRV-001.

Can one use Dom's system with the factory camera? This is a mod I'm considering as well.

If you already have the factory cam, you don't need to do anything unless you want to have the rear view while in motion. Then you need to rewire the RCA plug to Vid2 and the power wire to the blue wire. It gets a little complicated when you add a second on/off switch. I'm sure Dom can give you all the instructions.

I just had the navtool and a dvd player installed in my 2005 Acura Rl. Circuit City will do the install for $108.00. That was the best deal I could find and their work is guaranteed. I highly recommend Circuit City for the install. Works great!!!!!!

Quick question. I have a NavTV module and it was off my 06 TL and I would like to put it onto my RL. I also have a DVD player as well. My questions is how hard is it to take apart the unit on the RL? Seem like the whole dash is pretty much a tight squeeze and I have no idea where to start taking apart the front of my dash. Hope someone here can shed some lights. Thanks!

The nav tool connects to the nav unit in the trunk. You do not need to take apart the dash.

So just want to confirm, if i hook up my dvd player and the navtogo module, everything is on the back of the trunk? If that so, then thanks for the info!

The Navtool uses a plug and play harness that plugs into the back on the navigation unit. The DVD player video plugs into the navtool. You do need to run a power cable to the fuse box under the steering wheel. That is also where they placed the on/off switch. I purchased a DVD with a built in FM modulator so I did not need to install a modulator. The sound is actually pretty good.

The DVD player also has a USB and SD card port. I convert my movies to MPEG and can play them using a Flash drive or a SD card. Plus, they are going to start selling movies on flash drives pretty soon. So I reccomend getting a DVD player with a flash drive.
