IPOD on NAV Screen

I just found this. It says it works on 2005-2007 RL's you may lose XM, but will give IPOD info on top display & with the adapter will give you IPOD info on Nav Screen. Plus has extrqa aux in for Sirius which was what I was looking for. May order one this week. Has anyone heard of DICE?

It does not display anything on the Nav screen, nor does it claim to.

Apparently it DOES display on the nav screen. I stand corrected! Someone on the TL forum posted pics of the text on the nav screen. It uses the XM inputs for text info, so just like XM it displays on the nav screen and secondary display.

Here's the link to the TL page describing the unit.

It's too bad you have to give up iPod text to keep XM. Definitely a non-starter for me until they redesign the Y-cable to one that's switchable between XM and the iPod. Too bad! It looks to be the best solution yet for those who want to use an iPod and their navi screen.

I ordewred one today & am going to hardwire sirius into it. I prefer sirius to xm & I found out today that you cannot use a wired fm modulater on a RL because there is a fiber optic cable that serves as gps/xm/fm antena lead.

Got it installed today. Installer did not set the dip switches right so it is in cdc mode so you can press cd button twice for IPOD & aux. Display does not work, but you control IPOD from the ipos as normal, also now have sirius which was my main goal, and xm is still functional. When I have time I will open it back up & play with the dips & see how the display works. So to sum it up as is it is superior to the Acura music link since you cam directly control your ipod as normal and gives you an aux in, but has the potential to be awesome ifI can get the display & controls to work in the other modes.

Hi ssim3. What year RL do you have? Does anyone know if installing an aftermarket ipod adapter affects the warranty?

Had scare. The other day IPOD went on the fritz & when this happened I lost XM, the audio control screen would not show & voice commands would not function, phone worked, but all other voice commands were dead. All I could think of was avoided warranty & expensive parts. Today I pulled the fuse & rebooted the stereo & everything is fuctioning properly. Big whoo.

Have not had time. I am enjoying having sirius again and the Ipod has been an afterthought. As stated earlier I was in search of the aux in. Taking daughter on Disney cruise next week so it will be a while before I have a chance to look into it. Can post pics of Sirius Starbase if any one is interested.
