Interesting Navigation Issue

So I had an interesting Navigation issue occur to me in my '07, and I'm curious to see if anyone else has had a similar issue. As an FYI, I'm running the 2013 navigation disk.

So I was roaming the streets of Chicago and I was on my way out of the core downtown area, hoping back onto I-94 W from Ohio St. For those of you who aren't familiar with the way that's laid out, there is are express lanes and local lanes in the downtown area, with separate onramps to each. They originate at the same point, and ending in their respective locations which are side by side. Now, the difference is the route in between. The express onramp makes a much bigger "circle" and separates from the local ramp by about 100 yards at the farthest point. Both onramps dump into very similar and close locations on the local and express lanes respectively.

Now, the navigation was trying to put me on the local lanes and I decided express was a better choice for me. So I hop onto the express onramp, fully expecting the navigation to blurt out one of it's "re-routing" stunts until I actually get on the express lanes.

What it actually did really surprised me, and I'm curious to see if the navigation on the RL has done this to anyone else in the past. Instead on saying "re-routing", the navigation decided to just cancel the entire route.

No one? Is this really just a one time glitch? I'm almost tempted to go back and re-attempt it just to see if the navigation does the same thing again.

I didn't use my navigation enough to have something like that happen. The closest it would have been was on I-10W leaving Houston which is 6-7 lanes each way. In the far right lanes, it put me on the access road. However, I wasn't on a route to know if it would have tried to redirect me or not or give up had I done something "impossible".

I honestly don't use the navigation that much for the guidance either, unless I am in a strange place. More often than not, I will use it just for a distance calculation. I use it more so for the map itself to get a point of reference. I just thought it was strange. My mom works for Ford in their Sync division, and she keeps pushing me to call Honda or my dealer about this and report it to them, but I'm a little weary about that to be honest, I feel its probably a dead end for me and them

Given how outdated the system is and how little traction the RLX guys can get with their infotainment system, I wouldn't bother either.

I have seen strange routing like yours, when the nav prefers the side road and not the highway because it is shorter by few feet but the nav never quits on me like yours.
I do not use it a lot, many times I prefer to use waze on my cell because of traffic etc.

Yes, YES, Yes! Mine did this for the first time a week ago when I drove it to Washington DC and it got confused with the HOV lanes which had entry and exit points that differed from the 2009 disc in mine. The route just cancelled. Never happened before. Sounds like we had a similar condition that triggered the same reaction.

OK, so I'm currently in Chicago and I was on the same road again, I realized a little to late that I was going on the same road I was on the last time this happened. However, I was able to pull my cellphone out in time to record exactly what happened. Please excuse the shitty cell phone video!! I do remember it blurting out route cancelled last time and not displaying the error message at the end.
