Acura RL 2008 NAVtool with Ainol Mini PC
Using my car's navigation display as a monitor, Navtool to by pass nav unit and instead of using something like Sonic media or some other mini HD media player which requires an inverter with fan noise, I went a notch up and used a Windows 8.1 PC with a 7000 mAH battery over 10 hours of none stop use. Intel Btry Z3735F Quad Core Ainol Mini PC Windows 8.1 2G RAM 32G ROM 7000mAh 4.0 HDMI Port TV player Mini Computer PC Bluetooth and oh a Fly Air Mouse android Remote Control mini 2.4Ghz wireless game keyboard for Smart TV Box Ainol Mini pc / MINI PC II
All wires are place behind the soft panel in the trunk. I will post another video with the wires gone for the most part. The PC is not going to be permanently mounted or fixed inside the car. I take it out from time to time and use it at work and home, for like updates and what not.
Very cool. I had plans for this when I got my RL, but it never happened. One reason was I didn't want to pay that much for the navtool to only get a composite video connection. That's no fault of Navtool, who does excellent work, just the nature of the system, but I wanted a connection that looked digital, like RGB. Heck, some new Hondas have HDMI inputs now, but I'm sure you need a hack to play while in motion.
