Ignition knob gets stuck (2006 Acura RL)
Hi. Over the last couple of weeks, the ignition knob seems to jam more and more. I know that moving the wheel can sometimes fix it but it's becoming more and more of a challenge. I plan on calling the dealer tomorrow morning. Does anyone have any suggestions?
Thanks,
Jeff

Burning Brakes
Jeff,
This used to happen with my '06, and I became frustrated that I'd have to pull the key fob apart, pop off the cover and force the car to start using the plain, old, plebian key (just like the little people do). Ho ho... anyway, I came to a determination that half the problem was me and the other half was that the wheel was "locked" -- try turning your wheel lightly to pull it off the detent for the ignition lock, and I bet the key turns right away.
Since I've paid attention to this, I haven't had it lock up like that.

I had this problem and found the best solution, when the knob gets stuck and your steering wheel isn't locked, is to hit the "unlock" button on the remote. Seems to be a glitch in the communication between the door handle and the ignition lock.
This problem seems to happen when I've left the car unlocked for an extended period of time..

So I have the same problem, where the ignition will not turn at all. The wheel is not locked. In fact, when I turn the ignition the key fob is blinking. The fuel door button doesn't work, I have to open from the trunk manually. I am wondering does the key fob need to be reprogrammed or do I need a new fob altogether. I just got new door lock cables and that is fixed, but damn this technically adavanced car!!
