Are you talking about converting the nav screen to dvd video? If so, yes there are warranty implications; however, U.S. law states that the burden of proof lies on the dealer. If you install it and an issue arises down the road, the dealer has to PROVE that your modification caused the problem with the nav system. Keep in mind, if you get one - the plug and play ones require no cutting or splicing of wires - so you can just take it out should an issue arise with the nav system.

It is fairly simple to do. Check out our vendors - one of them sells a plug and play version and should be easy to install - and if you don't want to do it, you can have a reputable shop do it for you.

I have had an aftermarket Rosen unit installed and it works well. I will provide details if you are interested. The only drawback once installed was the fact that it interferes with my rear view mirror line of sight when deployed. It otherwise works great. I understand this is exactly the same for the Infiniti M factory installed units. The unit is mainly for my 2 year old to watch movies and has nothing to do with my front navigation display.

There is a vendor on this site ( http://www.tvandnav2go.com/acura-tv-navigation.html ) that has a plug and play kit for our car for $225 which not only supports dvd video but also has a plug-in for a back-up camera that atupmatically switches on when you put the car in reverse. I've heard nothing but good things about them and will be getting this kit for my car.

I don't think any RL owners have done this yet; however, I know several are considering it. Go with the one stingerbtry just mentioned. There is a groupbuy going on right now in the blackmarket for this and shoudl be able to get it at roughly $225 for the plug and play. It seems to be a great unit.

I do not think it does. But, our only option to find out would be to pull out teh HU and check. Wouldn't we need a compatible blitzsafe device anyways? They would have to engineer one specifically for the RL, correct?

Has anyone mod this in their RL yet. I would be interested in a group buy if its not too late.
