Can I use Phone's Voice Recognition while connected to car?

Hi,

Can I use the built in voice recognition of my Motorola E815 cell phone while connected to RL's (2008) Bluetooth system?

In my 2000 RL I installed an aftermarket bluetooth which allowed me to hit the button on my dash and then I heard the phone's voice prompts thru the car speakers. When I said "call home", it did by accessing the contact data base stored in the phone NOT in the installed system.

I am hoping to do the same here but am concerned that I can only have it recognize voice prompts I store in the RL's memory.

If anyone has any info on this I would greatly appreciate it.

Thanks in advance.

From what I've found it can't be done.

Thanks. Too bad because it was a great feature. Seems like here you have to load 1 contact at a time. I wonder why they did that.

I believe you can transfer your phone book to the RL in the '06 and newer. I have an '05 so it's not an option.

The 06 RL only has the 50 number manual entry capacity. This same feature was on the 07 RDX and MDX.

The new 08 MDX has a new HFL capable of downloading directories from telephones by bluetooth, up to 1000 names with 10 numbers per name according to the website.

The 08 RDX and 08 RL are silent on this feature, either not having it, or the website has not been updated. In fact, the 08 RL still seems to be using the videos generated for the 05 RL introduction.

Interestingly, the 08 MDX brochure claims capacity to store 60,000 numbers downloaded from cell phones via blue tooth, which, on the face of it, does not match up with the website, but so what else is new?

I have an 07 and can't.

I think the OP is confusing the RL with the new MDX. That system can do it

Sorry, I guess I was thinking of the MDX.
