Know it's been about a year since the last post but I just bought an 05 rl with a dead nav screen and would love this setup in my car. Anyone know anything about it and how to get it all set up? The AliExpress link isn't going through anymore.

Since this thread was posted there are a LOT more options on AliExpress !
They have the same feedback model as eBay - as long as you buy from a seller with decent feedback, then I wouldn't expect any issues with your transaction. I've bought masses of stuff over the years with no problems.
Obviously don't buy from a seller who has 1000 sales and 40% good feedback !! This way lies pain.
Think I'll be jumping on the grenade for this one...scouting out a unit from mookaka (what a name, not sure they know how it translates into cowsh*t)
$358 for a unit that does all except for wireless Android auto(usingh Motorola ma1 from my atoto s8 in my s10 for it since atoto upgraded their firmware).
Wondering what harness I'm gonna need to integrate it into the stock nav display...might just replace that with a Garmin unit tbh so I can have it separate from the head unit anyway, in which case I might just skip Android auto and use Bluetooth for connecting my Spotify from the phone through vividlauncher...would save the trouble of having to watch it try to connect through zlink all the time.

Looking through that feedback model I'm seeing a lot of duplicate reviews under different usernames...not sure AliExpress is working as hard as ebay to clean out the trash...then again ebay isn't working very hard either...put the head unit on order...there were no other options for shipping but the slow boat from China but it'll hopefully be here by June...
Btw, they bait and switched...the $358 is a pipe dream...even when I had it up if you hit add to cart or buy now it jumped to over $600. So I bought a $558 model...

Planning on replacing the nave screen connected to a wireless backup cam.

Why can't I edit my posts? This should have said Garmin connected to a wireless backup cam.
I am all for this journey, prepare yourself to have a full understanding of the wiring harness and how to power/trigger the accessories.
I highly doubt this is plug and play by any means, so I repeat, be prepared for some wiring and research because no one here has done this in almost 20 years.
If you search this forum you will find there is one thread out of 100's that made a solution and it was cutting the radio out to hard wire in a new one.
First impressions are that it looks like a tablet in a well made custom frame. Has a few buttons on bottom and what looks like a built in mic(bottom left hole, not sure about that, hopefully bypassable for a better setup of a visor mic).
Has a slot for the physical climate controls and I have a 2010 model of those on the way so I can still run it manually if necessary. Comes with plenty of clearly marked wiring harnesses, but the big scary part is no actual manual.
I've talked to them about this and there's definitely a language barrier. They tried to be helpful by sending pictures of wiring hookup that I didn't ask for, but still no manual seems to be available.
I'm hedging on hooking it up because, being new to Acuras, I'm a bit worried about the radio/nav code issues, especially with a blank nav screen. Couldn't hear the player spinning, although it did open and close, so I got lucky and found a junkyard unit from an 06.
Dealership was helpful in giving me codes for that (Had the vin but they only needed the serial # on the unit), but they admitted they were clueless about working with the system and often farmed out their work to stereo shops in the area. Guy couldn't tell me if it would make the car inoperable if I didn't enter the codes correctly or anything...Scary stuff.
So I'm at a pause point waiting on climate control switches and trying to figure out how to not brick my car if the nav screen doesn't come on with the player.
Am I gonna have to have the ECU programmed for this or anything crazy like that with regards to the security system? Also heard it would be a good idea to reprogram anyway for the transmission, so does anyone recommend a good chip/programmer?

Reason: Add picture
Btw, I'm likely to wrap this (and the gray shift gate panel) with carbon fiber...it gets rid of the side trim pieces which I had originally liked and I'm not a fan of solid plain gray.
If you look bottom right in the car you can see the junkyard nav player.
For those watching this, I got the nav screen back up and running...a chafed wire in the harness had me thinking it was an issue but it's good now...got the head unit in, and just finished wrapping it with the carbon fiber. Working on the shifter plate now.
The unit seems to come with all the harnesses you need to reinstall and I've been given assurances from their customer service that it will work with nav codes and the factory upper display as well as climate controls. Their manual is a little outdated and is very sparse(13 pages), but we will see how it goes when its in the car, likely tomorrow or sometime this coming week.
Got it installed but a few issues...most obvious of which is that the touch screen isn't yet working...probably a glitch...sent a message to their customer service on that.
Included the issue that the antenna connector for their unit is a 3 pin connector vs the 5 pin connector on the car (see pics).
Also, on the unit there are two plugs in center that didn't have harnesses, which I suspect go to the white plug that didn't have a mate (see pic). I suspect they forgot a harness which makes sense given the other glitches.
I didn't have my new backup camera wire handy so I just soft mounted the shifter surround...their unit snaps right in without hardware, so hopefully it won't be super difficult to snap out to finish the wiring.
Sadly, it looks like "not an ashtray" made way for a bigger screen, not that I ever stored anything but lint there anyway. The unit comes down and then mates right up to the front of the shifter surround.
Update on the touchscreen issue, it's a glitch...their customer service said I can fix it in the settings with a USB mouse, and that they'll provide a video to do so. The center two plugs are for factory testing only.
The antenna issue they'll get with technical on on Monday, and from the gist I got they may send an updated harness...
Liking the design. Liking the support, although it hadn't seemed to be there initially, all around, pretty good. Hopefully I can change the backgrounds and make it look even better.
Wow awesome that you actually have it mostly working !!!
I see one of your pictures says "Enter Code" with a wheel of numbers on the screen ... what is this ? Code for what ?
That code is for the factory nav screen. Haven't been able to figure out that input with the aftermarket head unit. Apparently I'm missing a harness, which they say will be sent...hopefully not on the slow boat. I cycled through most of the menus, and they're pretty sparse. Seems they're sending me an update file which upgrades to Android 12 and installs the climate control interface.
I can tell they're trying to support, but language is an issue and it seems like they would have worked the bugs out of it BEFORE putting it on the market. Manual is all but useless and is clearly for an older model.
Not trying to knock it though....it does seem like there is progress on this though. Have a backup cam all but installed...just need to hook up to the right backup light positive wire...according to the manual it's a brown wire.(see pic).
The stock wiring to the tail lights in the trunk is really flimsy looking, so I decided to wait until I could grab a wire tap instead of trying to splice.
I routed the wire down through the driver's side trunk arm. To get it from the trunk to the backseat, I just routed it through the u channel that braces the center of the seat.
I wanted to run straight through the center console, but the padding was so thick that I kept getting stuck in it, so instead I just pushed it under the driver's side trim plastic.to bring it forward.
Used a frame cam, drilled a hole dead center behind the plate which I used spacers to push out enough for the wire to wrap over, and then ran the wiring through a grommet which I then sealed with silicone.
Okay...Update ist, dass mir ein Geschirr gefehlt hat, das sie sofort schicken werden. Ansonsten gibt es nicht viel, was zum Drucken geeignet wäre.
Hi, I bought the same radio and I have the same problem with the antenna. Has the issue been resolved for you? And I have a second problem: Everything is functioning, but unfortunately, I'm not getting any sound from my speakers, etc. Can you help me out?

Ok, a bit to unpack here...first of all I have the same sound problems you're having. If you look, theys ent you a harness with a lot of red and white RCAs on it. That is because they likely set up their system for the Japanese version of the car which doesn't have the Bose system, or the connector that connects to the Bose amp, which is why you and I both have no sound. I gave them a picture of the connector and they seemed to know immediately what the problem was and are sending me the new harness, which should fix your sound problem as well. For the antenna, you'll need them to send you the 5 pin harness or break out the three pin they sent to fit. I'll link the Amazon version of the 5 pin, although that has a female plug and you'd need a male to male antenna patch cable to use it, which I will also link below.
Still working on the other issues. They're not the best at communications so buyer beware, but hopefully as we iron out the issues it'll be easier for those who come behind us...

Btw, if you're feeling impatient waiting on their new harness, it's always possible to do it the old fashioned way and go wire to wire through the two harnesses...not sure if the aftermarket follows the color code but I think that they're labelled by speaker, as I haven't opened it up since I found out I needed the harness.
I have the same problem. My car also has the BOSE system, but I have no sound. As I read, there is already a solution. My seller refuses to help me and ignores me. Could you perhaps send me a picture of your cable so I can build it myself? That would be very kind of you and would help me a lot.
Antennenadapter: Bingfu-Autoantennenadapter

Lol, I'm still waiting for it to arrive....they totally slow boated it...
Company is called swnav, although I bought through AliExpress. They have their own website but customer service still isn't the best.
I'll def send a pic when/if the harness arrives.
Haahahaha, very good! I also bought from the same seller, and the communication has been extremely challenging. The seller has been claiming for weeks that they will deliver new cables. I'm curious to see who will receive a cable or a sensible solution first.
I have another question: Can you control the air conditioning with your display? If yes, could you please let me know how you have set it up?

Looking forward to your response.
Might want to talk to AliExpress about this...I'm waiting till August 4th before I put in a dispute because that's the last day for my opportunity to do so...it seems like this company might be trying to hustle you along until your dispute window closes.
AliExpress has promised to refund if they don't fix their problems for me. You might want to secure the same promise.
They claim it's supposed to control climate controls with the update they're sending. So far it's just hot air...literally
Ok, update...for those with no sound, I finally got an answer, but not TECHNICALLY from the same company I bought the head unit from.
This company claims to be separate but I'm seeing posts in xda forums and others claiming that they're the same company with a different name on aliexpress. The fact that they all use an Asian woman as their chat picture leads me to believe this is true. Apparently there's a fiber optic decoder that is needed to connect to the Bose system. Here's a screenshot of the one they're advertising:
Obviously theirs says it's for Mercedes but they claim it works in the 05 Acura RL as well. I'm not sending them another hundred bucks to find out when I can likely find it cheaper elsewhere.
Swnav is blowing smoke and keeps saying to just wait, so I initiated the dispute with AliExpress. I have no intention of paying reverse shipping so either they fix it or refund it. If they did send the parts as they claimed and it works, I can always rescind the dispute, but it's been two months so I'm not holding my breath, especially when they couldn't provide a tracking number for these alleged parts.
The rep from Ali says that's fair, so we will see in the next 23 days what happens(how much time they say to wait on the dispute resolution.) They also say my money is safe... I'll believe that when it's safely back in my bank account.
Here's the xda link warning against them...wish I'd found it earlier...
Ok, update to the update and good news if you don't have sound.
I smelled a rat with AOSTR trying to sell me on the optical thingamawhatsit, so I went down to see a friend who works at a local sound shop here...he confirmed that the part they tried to sell me was nonsense because the Acura RL has analog connections. According to him, the issue is the factory amp not being triggered to come on. He said that if you jump the white number one pin on the factory harness to the red wire on the harness, it will trigger the amp to turn on and you should have sound.
At this juncture, I would highly recommend that nobody buy from these companies because the juice isn't worth the squeeze. I'm not sure how I'm going to fix the digitizer issue, aside from a full refund and reinstall the factory head unit, but he also said that integrating the head unit with the nav screen and the top display are likely to be a pipe dream.
Picture of the connections from my friend.
