Active Noise Cancellation

Has anyone been able to 'hear' the counter phase sound? I keep noticing a 'static' noise at about 40-50mph coming from the drivers door. It's there regardless of if the stereo is on or off. It sounds like a crackling...but very faint...and goes away once you hit 50mph.
Thoughts?
I took it into the dealer...and they said they couldn't reproduce it.

You can, occasionally, hear sound through the ANC... but it's not what you'd think. If you want to hear it, sit in your driveway at idle and gently tap the ANC mic with your finger in a repetitve pattern. You will hear a gentle bass thumping as the ANC reproduces this noise.

The ANC, however, only works on low frequency sounds. So if it's static-y sounding (i.e. high pitched) I would hazard a guess that it's your weatherstripping needing lubrication, not your ANC.

That's a relief... thanks for the advice. I'll try going over my weather stripping with some silicone lube.
Merry Christmas!

Fixed it!!!

Not that anyone else cares besides me... but I fixed it. Took alot of strange looks from the neighbors...watching me drive around the block in circles at 40mph with masking tape over various parts of the exterior...but I finally found the culprit.
If anyone else experiences a 'crackling noise' from the drivers A-pillar... It's a small 2x2" piece of removable plastic on the underside of the drivers side rear view mirror making all the noise. Put a little silicone caulk around the rim of it... let it harden.. put it back.. .whisper quiet.
Ahhhhh...

How did you get the piece off? The little notch is angle too close to the door to get a small screwdriver in there. Did you stick tape to it then pull it off? Thanks.

I took a very thin knife (Keychain Swiss Army Knife) and just pryed it along an edge and popped it out. It actually came out and went back in very easy.

Thanks - I was able to get it out the same way and use some silicone sealant around the edges. I also sprayed some silicone lubricant around the door seals as well. I'll find out tomorrow whether the driver's door wind/static noise is diminished.
