iPhone 3G hung my HFL
I got a dropped call will talking on the HFL today. The HFL then went wild. It first tried to call my mom. Then it tried to call my wife. Then it hung. I could not do anything with the HFL. No sound for the radio either. When I got off the 101 I restarted the car at the first traffic light and everything worked fine. Never happend in the past 4 years with my Verizon phone. Hopefully noy an iPhone bug.
Hopefully this was a freak incident.

A little OT, but how is the call quality on the Instinct. The other thing is, can you force the Instinct to roam? I know initially, that you could not force it to roam on Verizon/Alltel in areas where they had better service than Sprint.

Any one has the 06 RL & iPhone (1st Gen) combination? I am in that situation and all (signal strength, Battery, Audio switching) works fine except caller ID. I saw the posting from oban for a successful pairing for iPhone 3G, wondering if anyone has made it work with the 1st gen iPhone?

New MotoRIZR
Just purchased and paired a Motorola RIZR Z6TV; everything works: signal, caller ID, battery level and audio switching. Nice phone; slide style instead of flip.

I had an AT&T Fuze (HTC Touch Pro) for about a week and a half. The phone paired fine with the HFL and was fine for making and receving calls. Signal strength showed on the MID but not the battery level. The phone would not connect to the AcuraLink server. I ended up returning it due to the lousy speakerphone and difficulty obtaining a GPS lock compared to my trusty Moto Q9h.

I have a Sprint HTC Touch Pro (Like the Fuze). I am thinking of getting an RL. I test drove one at the dealer a few days ago. My phone paired perfectly and I was able to make and recieve calls, however data conection did not work either. It says it wont work on Acura's HFL website. Strange because I know my phone has bluetooth data connection compatibility because I use it on my laptop. I noticed that the RL had a manual data connection setup settings screen. I wanted to try to see if I can manually put in the settings and see if that worked, but the dealer was kind of a jerk and wouldn't let me play around much with the car. Anyone with an RL can confirm that manually putting in the data settings will work?
Thanks

got new Samsung Omnia and successfully paired. Shows Signal and battery strength.
only odd thing is that when dialing out, the ring starts low and then gets louder within each ring. That is, each ring starts at the same low volume and increases volume during that ring. This is different from previous phone. I would have thought the ring was specfic to the HFL, not the phone.

Palm Treo Pro (unlocked GSM) paired easily and works fine. Signal strength and battery meter show up in the MID. The AcuraLink connection didn't work, which is curious since the phone supports Bluetooth DUN and I have a data plan. No matter, the Treo Pro is a great phone.

It's way more than 100. There's a pretty big community of Treo Pro owners out there. The unlocked GSM version has been available since November or so. It's a great phone: 3G, WiFi, Bluetooth, GPS, WM 6.1 professional, etc. It's somewhat under the radar since Palm only sold it unlocked in the US and AT&T never picked it up. The device was actually designed and built for Palm by HTC.
Sprint is picking the CDMA version up and should be releasing it any day now - they were set to release it a few weeks ago but ran into some last minute issues with memory leakage due to the new version of Internet Explorer mobile that's only on the Sprint version.
It's a great phone - great reception, very responsive touchscreen, nice battery life. I highly recommend it.

As I indicated before, I upgraded to Omnia. Totally different form factor and it is growing on me. I may have spoke too soon about how well it works with HFL. Everything seems to work well except it does not take the "Redial" from HFL. Phone goes into some wait mode, and HFL does not respond to Cancel button. I have to press Cancel many times.
Anyone else have an Omnia?

TMobile Blackberry 8820 works well with RL for all features except Acura Data Link, just as my previous 8700g. It would be nice one day to have a phone that works with the Data Link just to see what it does!

Hi there,
I've lurked on the forum for about 2 months and now I'm ready to make a post.
I have an '05 RL and I'm considering the T-Mobile G1 phone to use with my Bluetooth. Is anyone using this phone and how is it working for you?
Thanks for your help!
Happy Mother's Day to all Moms in the Community!!!!

T-Mobile G1
I've seen in here that the G1 doesn't display battery or signal strength. I was wondering with the new update to the G1 if people have had success in that area.
I'm thinking about dumping my iPhone for one.

Blackberry Storm 9530: No problems connecting phone to RL bluetooth. Signal strength, battery meter, and incoming call ID indicated on cluster display. No data connection.

Motorola Droid works in my '05 without issue. Signal strength and battery level appear in MID. I haven't received a call and haven't roamed, so I can't comment on caller id display or roaming indicator. No data connection.

AT&T Tilt 2 (HTC Touch Pro2) works fine with the HFL. The phone paired without a problem and both signal strength and battery meter are visible in the MID. The AcuraLink connection did not work, but that's no surprise. The calls I have made have been fine as well. The Tilt 2 is a nice phone.

I am very surprised the Tilt 2 does with ATT does not work with DataLink. It seems to me that the simultaneous voice and data transmission of the ATT 3G would allow this. It must be something in the OS or the Bluetooth stack. I suspect the primary reason Verizon subscribers cannot connect to DataLink is this very reason.
My experience has been only with ATT so I cannot say for certain. But I have found most of my ATT Moto phones are very compatible with HFL and DataLink. I guess I will be sticking with my ATT Moto Q9h for now. It is one of the rare phones that is compatible with every HFL and DataLink feature.

No problems pairing this phone to a 2005 RL shows signal and battery strength, sound is better than I expected from what people have told me when I tell them I'm in the car
