2006 Battery replacement

Hope this helps someone out. I have had to jump my battery a couple of times now (original since new so I guess it's seen better days) and it died again at the worst time again when the boss was driving it with me being out of town. Anyway, here are the stores I tried and no luck.

1. Autozone, duralast is not a a flush port system (stuff sticks out at top which prevents the fuse connection). Also, they don't stock Optima batteries that fit.

2. Costco - no go, same as autozone

3. Walmart - no go, same as autozone

4. Sears came through for me. Part number 22850734, description: DH AGMG GP 34. Notice that it's group 34 versus 24 OEM. It fits. It also comes with an adapter that you can remove from the top and but at the bottom to raise the height. With the adapter it's identical size as the OEM. With tax it is around $170 and comes with a 3 year replacement warranty.

Specs are better than OEM.

Costco sells an Optima that fits.

$170 !! you can go to Acura, get OEM that has a 100 month warranty and they will exchange the warranty replacements for free and with a car wash all for about $140.

Just had to replace the battery on my 05' RL, didn't want to spend the money on the Optima Red Top.

Pep Boys
Bosch Premium Performance Battery
Part #24-700B SKU:9998137

Flap top, terminal mounts easily, fits perfectly.

They were/are a "deep cycle" battery that were top notch back in the day... but IMO all other batteries have caught up.

If you get a high cranking amp with a good warranty you wont have issues.
