XM Gone

Yesterday I got in my 05 RL and started the car, I had been listening to my Ipod that is hooked up through the US-Aspec connection. The screen was blank, it had the grids but no information. I have had this happen before and simply disconnected the Ipod and plugged it back in and it would "reboot". This time that did not work and even with the Ipod disconnected there is no XM. It is as if the XM button is broken, when I try and activate XM through voice control it double beeps and goes back like you gave a bad command. Anyone have a clue as to what is going on? Thanks in advance for the help!

you have to turn off ur car and turn it back on that has happen to me too. to prevent this from happening again what u do is leave it on fm or cd and go to xm after you started ur car and then go to xm2 for ur ipod.

I have turned the car on and off several times and still nothing... Gone from FM to XM, turned the radio on and off. disconnected the Ipod, plugged it back in. I can not even get it to go to the XM screen, it is like it no longer exists.

I wonder if the plug in the trunk could have come loose.

I am sort of having the same issue. I've had the US-Aspec device installed for almost a year now without issues. Yesterday I turn my XM radio on and both XM1 & XM2 are switching over to the US-Aspec ipod screen. When only XM1 is supposed to. I unplugged the device from the XM unit in the trunk and plugged it back in, but still same issue. I then completely unplugged it and plugged the regular XM cable back in and XM1 & XM2 start working again like normal on my XM preset channels. Problem is, I had the unit professionally installed and I do not know where the unit was placed in the car. Anyone have any ideas on what could be causing the unit to take over both XM1 & XM2?

Remove fuse # 5 next to the parking break, this will reset the unit. This includes your Nav, radio etc so have your codes ready. Once reset, this solved my problems....

My USA-Spec just died. Worked fine since November when I installed it. Leaving work on Monday, I push the XM button, and nothing. No XM, No Ipod, it just stayed on FM.
I called Crutchfield, they said to disconnect the battery for 5 minutes and try again. I did, but no change. When I unplugged the USA-Spec, and returned the car to the original config, XM came back. I'm now waiting on a replacement from Crutchfield.

I'm having similar problems with the unit. I find that after the car is off for a few minutes XM comes back and I have all usability restored. This is annoying and I'm thinking of ditching the whole USA-spec device. Anyone have updates to this problem?

nothing here, but electronics do not last forever.

I might call USA Spec and see if it a new issue

It's not a new issue if this thread is from last year. When I spoke to them they acted as if they'd never heard of the problem before. Now I see others have had the same problem.

I didn't mean new as in on the board, I meant the manufacture acknowledging an issue.
